About this apartment rental

Summary:

A private parking space all to yourselves — the most precious rarity in the whole Cinque Terre — comes with this exclusive villa in Monterosso's Fegina area. It combines a central location with the calm of a Mediterranean garden. A welcome package awaits, designed for our large villas: trofie pasta, pesto, a bottle of local wine and taggiasca olives, plus milk, orange juice and some seasonal fruit already in the fridge — the first evening's dinner is almost ready. 180 sqm, sleeps up to 8.

The Space:

Ground floor: dining room with a large wooden table, fully equipped kitchen (fridge, hob, dishwasher, Nespresso), spacious living room opening onto the private garden, double bedroom with private bathroom and shower. First floor (reached by a characteristic blue iron staircase): a twin room and a double bedroom with direct access to the patio and garden, two bathrooms (one with shower, one with bathtub and washing machine), living area with a convertible double sofa bed and panoramic balcony. A private parking space available on request — the rarest amenity in the Cinque Terre. Air conditioning throughout the bedrooms and main rooms. Chef-at-Home service and Ligurian pasta and pesto classes available on request.

Guest Access:

Exclusive access to the villa, with private garden and pergola.

The Neighborhood:

Monterosso's Fegina area, along Via IV Novembre: beaches, station, restaurants and shops all within easy reach.

Getting Around:

A private parking space available on request — a rare advantage in the Cinque Terre. The train station is an easy walk away.

Other Things to Note:

Small and medium-sized dogs welcome (non-dangerous breeds) for a €70 supplement, on a lead in communal areas, not on beds or sofas.

We leave a few breakfast basics in the kitchen for your first morning (croissants, biscuits, jam, tea, coffee, portioned powdered milk, sugar); where a kitchen is available, also our award-winning extra virgin olive oil from a local producer whose mill and honey production can be visited on one of our experiences, plus salt and washing-up liquid, and washing machine/dishwasher pods where fitted. Bed and bath linen included, with shower gel, conditioner, body wash and hand soap. Professional cleaning.

Our concierge office in Vernazza is open 9:30am–7:00pm from 1 March to 31 October; outside this period the office is closed, with presence available on request. We're always happy to welcome guests staying in any of the other villages too, whether for a quick hello or for advice on local experiences and activities.

Interaction with Guests:

⚠ ASSISTED CHECK-IN ONLY: no self check-in available. Standard hours 3:00pm–7:00pm; late check-in 7:00pm–10:00pm with a €100 supplement; no check-in possible after 10:00pm: past this hour car parks close, night trains are rare and often delayed or cancelled, and the villages fall quiet with no one around who could really help anyway: far better to plan a calm arrival the next day. Heating switched off from 1 April to 1 November.

Out of shape people need not stay here. Big hill to get to the property. But we liked the walks!! That said, this was a beautiful property away from the hubbub. Great view of the sea and trees from the balcony. They even had some staples (including prosecco) for some weary travelers who arrived late! Beds were comfy, everything was clean and simple. It was so nice to have a kitchen to store fruits and veggies and simple healthy breakfasts. We even shopped at the market down the hill and made our own Italian dinner one night. Close enough to the best beach IMO. NOTE: Google Maps has stairs walking directions but they are closed. Two sitting areas so great for a group who needs some alone time to spread out after being together. Built into a hill so stayed relatively cool while we were gone with AC off. Overall, we had a lovely 5 night stay. I wish it had been longer. The only hiccup was on the welcome letter, after booking flights and trains, said checkin after 10 is “impossible.” We were afraid we’d miss the train from La Spezia to get us there in time so got a 500 taxi (who didn’t bring us up the hill). We came to find out that it IS possible as there is just a lockbox. If the taxi had brought us up the hill it would have been worth the 500…but we kind of just wasted 470. Oh. And a knife sharpener on property would be great. I forgot the one I usually bring traveling.

This was a perfect property for our adult children and their husbands. We stayed downstairs and it was quiet for us. The grounds were beautiful and fragrant, the lemon tree was blooming, and I felt that I walked off all the the croissants I ate.

We so enjoyed La Palova. We felt safe and secure throughout the 5 Lands and were joyous upon our return to the property. It IS UP A STEEP HILL leaving us with a feeling of accomplishment each time we made it back to the property. The house has two units and there was active (& nosy)construction each day yet it did not keep us from enjoying the terrace or garden seating. Grazie mille.
