Great location. Large home suitable for families or friends. Well laid out property with views from each room. Very well stocked with everything you might need. Host went out of his way to ensure we found the property when we arrived late at night. Bed linen clean and comfortable, could do with an upgrade.

This home hosted a large group of friends and family for a week. There were five adults and three young children and there was plenty of space and activities to keep us relaxed and happy during the week. The location of the house was also very convenient- about 30-40 minutes from Porto, Guimaraes, or the Duoro River. Álvaro is a wonderful host, providing excellent support and communication throughout our stay. Highly recommend. One of the few VRBOs I truly want to return to.

Wir waren 14 Tage im Juni 2022. Die Villa ist mit viel Geschmack eigerichtet und an einem wunderschönen und sehr ruhigen Ort gelegen. Wir haben uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt und die Einmalige Aussicht auf die umliegenden Landschaft jeden Tag genossen. Der sympathische Eigentümer Alvaro, kümmert sich hingebungsvoll um das Haus und seine Gäste. Es hat an nichts gefehlt, was die Ausstattung angeht. Vielen Dank für die schöne Zeit. Wir kommen gerne wieder !!!

This house is rather a small manor in the countryside than a traditional holiday house - the location a bit difficult to find but when found what a place!! - situated on top of a very hilly terrain with a magnificant view from the terrace over the Tâmega valley towards Marco de Cavaneses on the other side of the river. Excellant equipped with everything you need. Host very kind and communicative about everything.

It was already our second stay in this beautiful house. The owner of the house was really lovely, very helpful and always easy to reach. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and we would love to go there a third time for sure! Ja foi a segunda vez que nos estivemos nesta casa. Foi mesmo maravilhoso. Fantastisch verblijf!

Met een groep van 8 vrienden hebben we 3 nachten mogen verblijven in dit enorm fijne huis. De foto's liegen niet, dit huis is werkelijk zó mooi. Alles is aanwezig in het huis om een fijne vakantie te hebben. Het uitzicht is zowel overdag als 's avonds echt prachtig, hier hebben we enorm van genoten. Het zwembad is tevens perfect. Niet al te te groot, maar dit is immers ook niet nodig gezien je het niet hoeft te delen met anderen. Het huis ligt afgelegen, dus extern vervoer regelen of een auto huren is wel aan te raden. Alvaro en zijn broer Francisco hebben ons enorm geholpen om het vriendenweekend helemaal te laten slagen!

This is a fabulous property with the capacity to accommodate a large party and we had a most enjoyable stay. The views over the valley and the town were spectacular and the patio was a delightful place from which to enjoy a pre-dinner drink. We had the feeling that we were the first visitors for the season and unfortunately the weather was unseasonably cold and with so much stonework throughout the building and only two solid fuel heaters we ended up burning a lot of wood in order to stay warm. However once the house reached a reasonable temperature it was fine and we all enjoyed the experience. We have little doubt that later in the season with higher ambient temperatures, this would be a special place to stay.

The villa was beautiful. Stunning location and it had everything we could or would need. Very clean and spacious and Alvaro was very helpful and quick to assist in anything we asked. We went as an extended family and all of us said we would return in a heartbeat.Portugal and it's people are beautiful.

The house, gardens, pool, views and amenities were spot-on for our two-day sojourn in the Douro. The owner, Álvaro, was very welcoming and extremely responsive (in fact proactive) when there was an issue with the electricity during a massive rolling storm. We took advantage of the pool, outdoor grill and the splendid patio. If you go to Amarante for the day I recommend taking the old road (N210) on the return to Marco de Canaveses alongside the Támega, GPS will suggest many other routes but this one is worth the extra 5 minutes or so.

A well designed house with a great view in a convenient location. Good base for exploring the Douro, Porto and further afield. Attentive hosting from Sr Velhote. Great plunge pool for cooling down on hot summer days. A lovely place for two families to share. Thank you.

Uitzicht is fenomenaal. Huis heeft alle luxe die je kan wensen. Het ligt ideaal om de omgeving te verkennen. Ook een aardige buurman die voor ons bij restaurant Tia Fina gereserveerd had. De gastheer is een echte gastheer. Prettig mens en gelukkig voor ons spreekt hij Engels. Een droom vakantie. Dank Álvaro!

Wat een geweldig mooi huis. Alles wat je maar kunt bedenken is aanwezig. Volledige keuken, mooie koele kamers. Alles zeer smaakvol ingericht. Het uitzicht vanuit het huis is werkelijk waanzinnig mooi. Zwembad stukje beneden het huis. Vonden wij wel prettig aangezien we een 4-jarige bij ons hadden die nog niet kon zwemmen. In de omgeving voldoende leuke steden om te bezoeken (porto, amarante, braga,guimaraes). Kortom 1 van de mooiste huizen waar wij ooit in hebben gezeten.

Heerlijke week gehad, volop privacy. Genoeg ruimte binnen en buiten de villa voor iedereen. Tafeltennis, badminton, ietwat klein zwembadje. Villa staat op een heuvel tussen de dennen en de eucalyptusbomen, prachtige vogels gespot. Ondanks wat minder weer hebben we ons uitstekend vermaakt. Een auto om boodschappen te doen is een must. Alvaro Velhote, eigenaar, is een fantastische behulpzame man. Op elke vraag of verzoek werd binnen 1 uur gereageerd. Wij hebben genoten. Nogmaals dank je wel Alvaro!

Een prachtig huis op een mooie lokatie (ligt tegen de helling van een heuvel) Groot genoeg voor 10 personen, maar je verdwaald er niet in.. Het terrein is opgedeeld in terrassen.fantastische plek ook voor kleinere kinderen. Alvaro is een goede gastheer die bij kleine probleempjes snel ter plaatse is. Geweldig!

So if you are planning on doing a holiday with friends this house would be a perfect match. The owner is very friendly and is always trying to help.

Van 27 mei t/m 3 juni verbleven wij met 8 personen in deze villa. Een geweldig huis met een ongelofelijk terras en dito uitzicht. We hebben een vrij ruime ervaring met het huren van dit soort woningen maar deze is de beste tot nu toe. De foto's geven beslist geen vertekend beeld. Alles klopt. Portugal is mooi, de mensen aardig, de prijzen (vooral in de horeca) zeer redelijk en de eigenaar Alvaro spreekt Engels, is uiterst behulpzaam en zeer sympathiek. Dit was het eerste maar hoogstwaarschijnlijk niet ons laatste bezoek geweest! Kommer

Pluspunkte: sehr netter, hilfsbereiter Vermieter, riesengroßes Grundstück mit zahlreichen Freizeitmöglichkeiten, ideale Ausgangslage für Ausflüge ins Durotal ( Wandern, Zugfahrten, Schifffahrten ) super Haus für große Familien, da viele verschiedene Aufenthaltsräume, besonders der Wintergarten ist sehr schön, Haus ist vollständig ausgestattet mit allem was man braucht Verbesserungsvorschläge: Zufahrt zum Haus teilweise sehr holprig, Betten entsprechen nicht Hotelstandard Insgesamt hatten wir eine sehr schöne Woche mit der Familie ( trotz zeitweise Regenwetter )

Prachtige woning op een prachtige locatie. Ruime woning is voorzien van alle gemakken. We hebben het super gehad met 7 personen. Het uitzicht is fantastisch die je hebt. Je bent met de auto in 35 minuten in Porto. Het dorp Marco de Canaveses kun je terecht voor een hapje en drankje. Alvaro is een uiterst vriendelijke gastheer. We kunnen dit iedereen aan bevelen.
