About this house rental
Location and recreational activities:
This high-quality, lovingly furnished home is located in one of Garmisch’s most desirable neighborhoods, right next to the historic villa of world-renowned composer Richard Strauss.
You’ll be staying close to the town center and at the foot of the mountains.
The beautiful hiking trails begin right in front of the house. Passing by the Strauss Villa, a 15-minute walk will take you to the popular Kramer Panorama Trail. Here, a unique Alpine panorama unfolds before you, stretching all the way to Germany’s highest mountain, the Zugspitze. You can also enjoy a fantastic view over all of Garmisch-Partenkirchen and the Olympic ski jump. If you’d like, you can start a one-hour hike from here to the St. Martin Hut or continue on to the summit cross of the Kramer (1,985 m).
If you’re planning a leisurely day, take a short stroll along the Loisach River to Garmisch’s pedestrian zone—just a few minutes away. Here you’ll find the beautiful market square with its Baroque town church and numerous shopping options. Traditional Bavarian restaurants and sunny street cafés invite you to linger.
The location of Villa Alpenmelodie offers ideal local recreation year-round. In winter, a hike to the St. Martin Hut—followed by a 20-minute sled ride right back to your front door—is a must (sleds and bobsleds are available in the house).
Skiers can reach the diverse Garmisch ski area—with 40 kilometers of slopes and four snow-covered valley runs—in just a few minutes by car. Families will feel right at home on the mostly easy-to-moderate slopes, while the famous Kandahar run awaits more athletic skiers.
