Upscale luxury in a beach house with panoramic seascape vistas. This oceanfront cottage has been floor-to-ceiling renovated with an upscale modern coastal vibe that was designed by Susie to keep all different styles of vacationers in mind. The beach house is completely private. And we are located well away from the crowds -- often the beach is completely empty in front of the house, allowing complete enjoyment of the white sandy beaches. Clean lines and custom furniture let the stunning 180-degree ocean views do all the talking. Two sets of sliding double doors open up to a large sunbathing deck with plenty of furniture to enjoy the ocean breeze (and tan without the sand), while sipping your favorite beverage. Outdoor dining for two is also recommended if you like romance, as you have an unobstructed view of over 2 miles of coastline (great for taking vacation pics). For your convenience, we boast the shortest walk to the sand you can buy on the island if you feel like walking down to the beach to check on your family. But where Susie's Hideaway East really shines is when you wake up from a vacation siesta to the unbeatable views of the sand and ocean from our custom-made napping couch. Linens and towels are included. Also we are only 5 minutes on a walking path from a wine store, grocery stores, and restaurants. Susie's Hideaway East features all new kitchen with granite countertops, new appliances, new flooring, new bedding, ceiling fans, dishwasher, washer/dryer, 4 flat screen TVs, and wireless high-speed Internet access. Susie's Hideaway is a duplex (with two sides, East and West). This listing is for the East side. It is completely private -- there are no shared or common areas. And we are located well away from the crowds -- often the beach is completely empty in front of the house, allowing complete enjoyment of the white sandy beaches! Linens and towels are included. The property is super clean and has everything we needed for our stay, but bring your own shade for the beach if you need it. The hosts were super communicative and shared tons of information regarding activities in the area, restaurants, and beach accessories for rent (I rented a Shibumi Shade). The view of the beach and the surf is amazing, just as advertised. We had a wonderful time!!

Stay was wonderful. Have stayed many times on EL but this location was closest to the ocean front so far. You can hear the ocean and several enjoyed sitting on the deck for hours listening. Home was very well stocked. USB chargers in every room. Kitchen had all the items needed. Keurig, coffee pot, toaster, detergent, can opener, plenty of sharp knives, pots and dishes. Owners communicated several times ahead of the check-in date with reminders and updates of the area. Responded to questions within 1-2 hrs.

This duplex was super clean, completely stocked with anything you might need, and beautifully decorated! It was very helpful to have phone chargers in all 3 bedrooms and living room. There were plenty of towels, wash cloths and bathmats. The starter bag had trash bags, dishwasher detergent, bar soap and Keurig coffee pods with sugar and creamer. There was extra dish soap and handsoap under the sinks too. We also enjoyed the rocking chairs, high top chairs and picnic table on the porch. What a great view sitting there. I guess one of the best things was being able to walk out to the beach without having a ton of steps. We will definitely be coming back if it's available.

This was our 2nd year coming down to Emerald Island for our April Break. Our stay was wonderful. The house is as advertised. Great location with all the amenities you need. Beach is beautiful. The surrounding area has some nice hikes and day trips for the family. We will be back next year.

If you want to enjoy the beach as much as you can, this is a great place to stay. 24/7 views of the beach. We had neighbors in the West side of the house and it was still quiet (an added plus that they were very nice). Nice chairs to bring to the beach. A well appointed kitchen. Very close to grocery store, a nature preserve, and restaurants.

My family has been going to Emerald Isle for decades. We are very familar with the island and many of the beach homes on the island. I found our stay at Susie's Hideaway to be one of the best cottage stays yet! The two have really put so much thought into making you feel like you are at home and immediately can begin your normal routine with ease (which is especially nice with 3 young kids). You really only need to pack the minimum as they have set the house up to be so comfortable and all the essentials and many extras are provided. I was impressed with how clean and comfortable the house was. The view is gorgeous. The location is ideal! I can't say enough nice things about this sweet couple and their beautiful home. I am so thankful they share it for renters!

The property ‘s location is fantastic- on the beach and near great restaurants and grocery stores. The home is as described and is delightful- clean, nice decor, and inviting. William and Susie were very accommodating and responsive to all our questions. They provided information on local restaurants and attractions- very helpful! We would love to return and spend more summers there and maybe even a winter or two. Highly recommend!

Close to the beach, every extra amenitie your family would need, and very clean. Can't say enough good things out our experience renting Susie's Hideaway. Prior to our arrival we had received helpful information from the owners as to checking in. After we walked into Susie’s Hideaway we discovered a terrific place to stay. The beach access was awesome and views both am and pm were super. The space was well decorated and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped. Being we were there for Thanksgiving, this was important. Everyone in our party thought the place was neat, clean and cozy. Also, this location is close to shopping and groceries. We’ll plan on another time to stay.

This property lived up to its promise and then some. Beautifully decorated in contemporary nautical style. Really well stocked, right on the beach. Great beds, AC and fans to keep it cool. I really don't have any complaints at all. We loved every minute of it. Our stay was too short, but we will come back for sure. LOVED IT!!

This property is right on the beach - you really couldn't wish for a better location. The home itself is beautifully decorated and updated. The a/c works great, plenty of hot water and good water pressure. The kitchen is roomy enough to cook, has new/quality appliances and the owners have done an excellent job stocking cookware/utensils. My group had 2 adults and our 3 teenaged children. Everyone had plenty of room to relax. There are beach chairs provided, and wonderful chairs on the deck overlooking the beach, a perfect spot to sip coffee and watch the sunrise. This is a wonderful place to vacation, we'll be back!

This was a great ocean front location. William and Susie put a lot of thought into what was in the house. The bedrooms were great for the kids. Each of our teenagers brought a friend and they had their own space upstairs. Being right on the beach made it so easy. Highly recommend!
