If you're looking for relaxing holidays, STAY AWAY from this property.
The Wi-Fi, the beds and the view from the living room and one of the bedrooms are pretty good. Everything else is a disaster.
If you're travelling with a car and intend to frequently enter and exit the designated parking space, **STAY AWAY** from this listing. In order to reach it, you must first drive through an extremely busy and restricted pedestrian area to which access is granted via an intercom. It happened to me that the call was never picked up and I had to find paid public parking elsewhere. It was a nightmare to convince the people managing the listing to get back the value I paid (only 3.30€), since they claim they don't have an interface (or even a phone number to complain) to the company that manages the access. Another time, we had to wait >5min for the call to be answered. Overall, this is a ridiculous system.
The pedestrian area mentioned above is one of the main nightlife areas in Portimão and is extremely packed and noisy from ~18:00 to ~04:00. You can hear pretty much everything from the apartment. If you have a light sleep, avoid this place at all cost.
The balcony has a great view of the sea in the background but it's located directly above the kitchen exhaust system from a nearby restaurant. It's turned on most of the day and night, noisy and it will constantly smell of grilled meat.
We had very noisy neighbours in the apartment directly above us. We had to threaten to call the police for them to calm down.
There is no AC in the apartment. When we asked about it, the guy checking us in said: "Yes, there is: you can open the windows". Even as a joke, this is unacceptable.
Although the apartment interiors are decent, the building itself is ancient and a bit under disrepair. To reach the 4th floor where the apartment is, you may take one of 2 tiny elevators from the '80s, one of which had its safety inspection due since 4 months.
There was no liquid soap in the bathrooms to wash our hands, no spare toilet paper rolls and no spare trash bags.
Considering all the above, the price paid is a daylight robbery.
