Good location, but not a well-suited place for a comfortable stay.

The location was very good, with nice cafés and restaurants nearby. It is very central and within walking distance of the main tourist attractions.

This is not a typical apartment in a residential building, but a commercial space (formerly a shop) converted into accommodation. It is on the ground floor with direct street access, and one of the bedrooms is in the basement, which felt particularly humid and cold. On arrival, several essential systems were not working properly. There was no WiFi, no hot water, and the heating was not working properly. These were only partially resolved the following day... we lost a day of our holiday due to these issues. Overall, the property felt really really cold, especially the basement room. The air conditioning system was poor, with a setup requiring all units to be set to the same temperature, plus a motion sensor that turned all the lights off (including the AC) when there was no movement. This made it especially uncomfortable at night, when the system would shut off while we were sleeping. A host came to the house to fix the issues, but the problem with the heating system could not be really fixed. The kitchen was induction-based and somehow not all provided pans were compatible. While the hosts (apparently a team of three) did attempt to address the issues, communication often focused on justifying themselves, claiming other guests had no problems (which was naturally deeply frustrating), or redirecting responsibility between them, rather than resolving problems. This came across with a lot of attitude, which was frustrating, as we were on a short holiday in Madrid and internal host coordination issues should not become the guest’s burden.
