Very happy with my favourite budget hotel in london... clean comfortable friendly and perfect location. Room at the back of hotel was lovely and quiet. Highly recommended.

Within sight of King's X/St Pancras, less than 5 minutes walk from these stations. An effortless check in process. Good use of folding table to maximise room space. Also worth checking out is the regenerated Coal Drops Yard just beyond the stations.

My partner and I recently stayed at MacDonald Hotel, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, Laura, the receptionist, greeted us with a warm smile and made us feel incredibly welcome. Her hospitality and attentiveness throughout our stay were truly exceptional.
The hotel itself exceeded our expectations in every way. Our room was cozy and beautifully appointed, with all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay as a couple. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep after a long day of exploring the city.
One thing that stood out to us was the attention to detail throughout the hotel. From the cleanliness of the rooms to the thoughtful touches like complimentary toiletries and a well-stocked minibar, it was evident that the staff takes great pride in ensuring guests have a memorable stay.
The location of MacDonald Hotel was also perfect for us, with easy access to public transportation and plenty of dining options nearby. We loved being able to explore the city during the day and return to the comfort of our hotel in the evening.
Overall, our experience at MacDonald Hotel was nothing short of amazing, thanks in large part to Laura's exceptional service and the hotel's impeccable amenities. We're already planning our next trip back and will definitely be staying here again if the price is right. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a memorable and enjoyable stay.

I had to stay in London overnight at the last minute for an early journey the next day. I was stressed and anxious. I had a warm and friendly welcome at the hotel and moved to a more accessible room so I wouldn’t disturb others when I left at 5am.
The room was comfortable and the shared toilet and shower both absolutely clean. A very comfortable stay.

The property is walkable from the train station. This hotel is better for the back packer. The sad part of it is this hotel had no lift, so it’s not conducive for a senior. You can hear the noise outside if your room is situated in the main road.

Very friendly staff. Reasonably quiet considering the very central location.

It offers rooms of good quality for this price. However, I personally was not too happy with the shower--the water was either too hot or too cold. It could be me that I didn't know how to adjust the temperature properly tho.

Very good location and it takes 3-4 Minutes to Underground station by foot. Room it clean and comfortable. The working staff is very hospitable and professional. I would like to further recommend it. TOP

I was traveling solo so booked the two twin room with my own restroom. Unfortunately the two rooms next to me were sharing a shower and toilet facility which made for a lot of noice and knocking, it was hard to know if they were knocking on your door. The mattress would easily slid off the bed, plus it seemed quite tight for a twin. I ended up shifting the other twin bed next to mine which helped feel as though I would not fall off the bed 😂. I liked the location to the underground and rail stations, and it was clean and comfortable otherwise.

Quiet room facing the front of the hotel, clean, very close to King's Cross/St. Pancreas. No lift, but not a problem if traveling light. Would stay here again.

It was clean but very noisy when trying to sleep. Every floorboard squeaks. No exaggeration. This kept me awake til 2am because other guests were walking about, moving furniture and dropping things til then

Single room on second floor. Drilling outside which was out of hotels control but very noisy. Toilet seat on communal toilet would not stay up. Hair on open bar of soap. Have stayed her before but very disappointed this trip. Staff offered to change my room for second night even though they had a full sign outside !! but late at night couldnt be bothered to change

COMFORTABLE ROOM

One bed room was good for the price and the room met all my requirements.
The down side was the music being played late at night (up to midnight) and the noise of the building site over the road in the morning

The desk guy was so helpful! He helped me figure out how to get to our meeting point for a Stonehenge excursion and explained what train to take. Location was good, we walked everywhere. Our room was small but clean and safe. Would recommend!

The shower went hot and cold but not enough to freeze or scald.
The room was quite small danger of knocking over water during the night.
Good wardrobe.
Very noisy outside due to road works.
Good value for money

The MacDonald Hotel is welcoming with extremely courteous and professional service. The manager and owner Saviour is very hospitable, helpful and kind. He changed our allocated room to one much more suitable to my disabled, special needs. We had a very pleasant and comfortable stay for one night. This was despite major construction works nearby. Argyle Square had a few homeless people in it but they did not adversely impact on our stay at all.

Just what we wanted, a comfortable cheaper place for the night. No problems at all

Great experience! We knew it wasn‘t a 5 star hotel so we didn‘t expect too much. For people being active outside, just intending to sleep at the hotel i can highly recommend this hotel. The staff was really nice and the room gets cleaned everyday also the location of the hotel is very central.

Staff is friendly. The space in triple room for two people is big enough. The water pumping of toilet is slow, but the flush power is good.

I liked the location (close to King's Cross).

Fantastic stay. Excellent room.

Great value for the money. The Macdonald is on the cheaper end for London hotels, and the room was accordingly smaller and the facilities a bit plainer than other places I've stayed recently. But it was clean, everything worked (TV, WiFi, appliances), the staff were very friendly and helpful, and it's a 5 minute walk from King's Cross/St. Pancras, so extremely convenient for transportation. I will stay here again.

Next to King Cross St Pancras, easily catch a train or the underground. Some hidden but nice restaurants and pubs in the area as well.
