The elderly gentleman who checked us in was excellent.

The hotel is beautiful and in a great location. However, the room I booked on Hotels.com was not what I received. I booked a room with two beds and was given a room with one bed. The hotel blamed Hotels.com for having wrong info on their site and Hotels.com blamed the hotel. I spent 40 minutes on the phone with Hotels.com and I couldn’t get the room I booked because the hotel was full. Very disappointed. I believe hotels do not like when a 3rd party site is used, so we end up with the worst rooms.

Great hotel and friendly service. I initially booked 2 king beds with a request to have adjoining or nearby rooms. Plans changed and I had to get a long and two queens, which staff were happy to do. Upon arrival, guests in the 2 queen room failed to leave in a timely manner so staff gave us 3 king rooms all in a row, with the third room on the house. The hotel is an older place in Taos, which is just the nature of things in this town. It can be a bit noisy due to the age, but the hotel is clean and well taken care of. It is in the main plaza with lots to do and plenty of great restaurants within walking distance. I will make this my place to stay any time I am in Taos.

Cute historic hotel. Location was great - walking distance to historic downtown area. Beds were really hard. Ok for 1 night stay to explore the area.

Our stay at Hotel La Fonda was great! It's in an amazing location, the staff was very friendly and the room had a fireplace which was an added bonus. We will stay here again!

Check in was easy process and quick. We went to Taos as our first time heading back home from our honeymoon. Very nice and relaxing.

This hotel definitely needs some updating. I am not a picky person but our toilet would not flush, bathroom fan did not work, bed was really bad, squeaked and terrible mattress. The hotel is in a great location but was not very comfortable.

Cozy room with an awesome bed! Great coffeeshop downstairs. All in all a wonderful place to stay in the heart of Taos.

Old style Western ambiance located in the oldest part of town. On the old town square. Convenient walking to numerous shops and restaurants.

Absolutely LOVED staying in this 1820 historic hotel right in Taos Plaza! Such a beautiful location, so convenient, quiet, off-street parking, very comfortable room (perfect for traveling solo).

The property is historic with lots of great art. It is on the Square in Taos so everything is within walking distance.

This historic hotel is located right on the plaza and within walking distance of so many of the Taos sites. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The room that I had was not as promised. While clean, the bed was not pillow topped and the mattress was very worn.

The location of the property was great, the property itself had several "flaws", such as paper thin walls, tiny rooms, shower/restroom problems, remote control problems and odd setup for parking and ot loading and unloading of luggage into your room.

It was a very nice stay for my 50th birthday, and the service was amazing! The place is slightly showing signs of wear and could use updating a little within a few years, but we really enjoyed our stay and the service!

60 cycle hum constant in the room - ac, refrigerator, etc. Room crowded by tv, coffee station inconvenient; it needs another layout. So, not worth what we paid, wouldn’t return or recommend.

The hotel has a delightful location on the plaza. The rooms are small but adequate and the experience of staying there makes up for it. Be sure to view the DHLawrence exhibit. It’s fascinating!

Unfortunately the hotel is very run down. Our door upon arrival wasn’t even shut or locked when we went to use our card the 1st time. Someone had used the restroom and didn’t flush ( a man because seat was up), we thought they sent us to a maintenance room or something because there were several spots on the wall that looked like they had repaired and was waiting for the paint. Twin headboards that were spread apart for a king mattress. We couldn’t believe how shoddy everything was done. Dirty Kleenex up on the shelf. We questioned it all to the front desk and they said oh it was ready and had been inspected… no zippered mattress cover on the mattress. Ughh! Not a please experience sadly. The public restroom in the lobby was filthy. People were kind though and it is in a great location. Just needs more quality control.

voices and sound of tv from adjacent room were clear,...slight smell of mildew in restroom...overall, fine place to lay your head, but rough around the edges

The service and facilities were great. I was in town for work and the wifi was reliable and location great for getting food and walking around the plaza in the evenings.

Beautiful historic site. Quirkiness of layout and fireplace in room a 0lus.
Lack of dining facilities a major issue

The hotel is lovely, right on the plaza, and the rooms are quaint and have nice character. There is no restaurant or bar onsite. They have one, but it seems to be permanently closed.

This hotel is a gem in the Taos Valley, and I’ve stayed in many! The staff is so friendly, hotel rooms are charming and very clean with all the modern amenities. I absolutely love the proximity to shops, restaurants and the walkability to all of it.

Great rate for a historical property right on the plaza. It was so quaint and cozy. Thank you, guys, for helping me make memories with my kid during a holiday break from college. It really felt like Christmastime for me, and it was a new experience for her.

Hotel La Fonda Taos is an excellent historic hotel located on the Plaza so walking distance to museums and restaurants and shops. Rooms were lovely with art work from many of those who are or were Taos based artists with national and/or global recognition. Staff were very helpful with recommendations for local dining. Owner even staffed at the front desk on occasion. Wonderful place to stay. Thoroughly enjoyable.

I loved my stay at La Fonda Taos and don't have any further comments. I will definitely consider this property for future trips to Northern New Mexico!

Charming hotel. Shops and restaurants were walking distance. Only thing that was not impressive was the walls are very thin and were able to hear the neighbors.
