Abbey Abcoude

We ended up booking at this inn because our flight to Portugal was cancelled the day before our flight and we had to overnight in the Netherlands. We didn’t want to stay super close to the airport. After looking at the photos of the inn on Expedia, we chose to stay at the Abbey Abcoude, as it seemed close enough to Schipol without being right at the airport. The taxi to Abcoude is pricey, but we discovered the next day that the train is a short walk away from the inn and only involves one transfer. There was some confusion with the booking between the inn and Expedia, which could not be resolved. Expedia ended up refunding us and we paid the property directly. The staff were incredible. The room was lovely and spacious. Abcoude was beautiful and quiet. The restaurant at the inn served incredible food. Breakfast is at Ollie’s Cafe and More, which is just across the street from Abbey Abcoude. We had had lunch at Ollie’s when we arrived and it was terrific. The breakfast at Ollie’s is generous and delicious, no matter which option you choose. The cafe staff were helpful and friendly. We love that we stumbled upon this lovely little gem. We fully plan on returning to this divine place — if one day was this enjoyable, a week here would feel heavenly. We cannot recommend Abcoude, Abbey Abcoude, or Ollie’s Cafe enough. The people were just so welcoming and warm. The town is beautiful. The food is simple and delicious. And you can just relax and breathe here. Five ⭐

The accommodation was excellent, the bad thing is that it is a bit far from the center but there are buses so great. I stayed to go to Jin's concert, thanks for the kindness!

Extremely pretty little inn with beautiful surroundings in the cutest little village!

Great hotel. Feature beams in the room. Bar & restaurant for evening food with a canal side outdoors terrace facing the evening sun. Breakfast included was really nice and is in the cafe opposite. Would definitely recommend. Staff were very helpful. Very good for access to the train station which is 6 stops from Amsterdam Central, 15 mins.
