The Old Vicarage Hotel & Restaurant

Lovely relaxing stay. We had room 15 across the courtyard and it was lovely and warm. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Made to feel very welcome by lady owner and her staff.

Where can I start. The staff are all so lovely and friendly. The hotel is quirky, and adorable. The scrambled eggs for breakfast are absolutely amazing. I don't like eggs, but we hurried down for the scrambled eggs. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone. Our room was very clean, also very comfortable bed. We couldn't get the T.V to work, the staff sorted it out. The view of the church was lovely to look at out of our window.

The only thing which put us off, was the town centre is very run down. If you could pick this hotel up and move it. It would be fantastic. Also our windows didn't open So it was a little stuffy.

Historic property,centrally located.a very characterful place.Wonderful dinner and breakfast.Staff willing to go that extra mile to ensure our enjoyment of the stay.

The old Vicarage Hotel is a beautiful quirky old hotel, that has loads of character and charm. The staff are always lovely and friendly.

The TV in our room didn’t work, the light on the mirror in the bathroom also didn’t work. I was really sad to see that the lovely Daniele has left and there is a noticeable difference in the standard at breakfast. It seemed disorganised and short staffed. Despite checking in the previous afternoon and booking breakfast at the time of booking, they were not expecting us for breakfast and had us down as that day check in. We also waited for a while before any member of staff appeared, even going to have a peek in the kitchen to see if we could see anyone. We also wanted to go for a drink in the bar on the Friday evening but it was all in darkness and locked up when we arrived at 10.30pm despite saying it was open until 11pm.
