DO NOT STAY HERE - the only good thing about it is the location. Dirty and uncared for otherwise.

The location. That is literally it, oh and the fact that we had beds.

This was our 2nd time at this apartment and we were saddened to see that absolutely nothing had changed since last year. In July, it was incredibly hot in Arcachon and the agent assigned to managing the flat wanted absolutely nothing to do with our request for a fan, which was initially responded to with a 'sorry there isn't one available' (yes, that's why I asked?) before telling us that if the landlord didn't feel like putting one in, there was nothing she could do. I insisted she ask the landlord and was told she would, but received zero follow up. The flat needs a full deep clean and revamp. The curtains are DIRT cheap, with cigarette burns in several places. The skirting board in the lounge is dirty and not fully finished. The balcony has caked-in dirt on the tiles that can't be washed or wiped away, and the wooden frame of the balcony doors is rotting away, with paint flaking off. The chairs did not match, with one missing a slat. One was cheap plastic, the other was wooden (without slat) so we had to use cushions because it was otherwise very uncomfortable. The showerhead locking mechanism is broken, so you have to balance the showerhead against the wall which means you have to shower with water spraying out horizontally. This was noted last year with the agent; not a thing has been done to repair it in the year since. On top of this, the vertical radiator has rusted somewhat, exposing the metal underneath, with the paint flaking off. We dried our swimming costumes here, and since I hadn't noticed this, I ruined a 60 euro swimming costume with rust marks that are now impossible to remove. There was not a bin in the entire apartment - again I asked the agent about it, who had apparently 'been trying to get the landlord to sort one'?? No follow up, and no bin was produced. In the heat, it was pretty gross to have a binbag sitting out on the floor of the kitchen.

Passable

80€ charge on bed linen & towels after it was booked, bed linen & towels were old & shabby and the quantity I paid for not provided. I’m informed the local rep & she told me she would drop them off, this never happened. Also cleanliness not up to standard, there was a used soap bar left in the shower so I cleaned the bathroom myself.
