Nice enough hotel to the eye and very friendly, polite staff on the reception desk.
Bathroom was clean and everything functioned as it should.
Air con (heating at least) worked as it should.
If you're expecting a modern fresh looking hotel you need to appreciate most hotels in italy are quite old and personally feel it adds to the charm.
Downfalls were the bed being quite hard although i appreciate some prefer the firmer mattress, its not for me.
The door frame to our room was not fixed and the whole door and frame moved a lot almost like it was held on by the architrave.
The room safe had a surcharge to use according to the booklet we were given. Seems strange when every other hotel ive ever stayed in just has a coded safe you can use at your leisure.
Breakfast was something to be desired. Not much selection on the day we stayed and didnt seem particularly fresh, we just went out and got breakfast elsewhere.

They gave me an umbrella when it rained and I didn’t have one.

The staff is extremly friendly and sweet. The property is a jewel in the beautiful Lido island. Beautifully decorated, charming, retro style, it feels like you are in a movie...
My parents spendt their hooneymoon there 50 years ago and they told me I would not regret staying there. It was the most perfect decision. I really enjoyed it. Love it!!!!

We enjoyed the spectacular view from our room. Indeed “the window of the Venice”you can’t find the location with this kind of view in Venice! Period! 👍 . Also they have killer breakfast with lots of choices , great service… definitely will be back!

The hotel is VERY convenient to the bus and water taxi, which is vital in Venice. Our room overlooked the lagoon with a wonderful balcony/deck. Would stay there again and very much recommend it.

One of the most amazing hotel stays in Italy. The staff is unbelievably amazing, sweetest, most fun and helpful. Free breakfast has limited veg options. Right in front of Lido ferry stop so super convenient to get to Venice main island. Def try getting a room with a view cos you don’t want to miss it.

The staff was very friendly, the location was amazing and walking distance to everything on lido island. The rooms were cute and boutique style. I would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to see lido and Venice

Wonderful stay in a wonderful hotel

Located on Lido Island directly across the street from the Water Bus service. The hotel staff were not helpful and do not provide maps for guests. My room was fine but the bathroom was dirty. My family's room had no air conditioning and was very very tiny with a shower that would not fit all adults.

Close from water taxi. Walkable to shopping and places to eat. Very old hotel. Meant to enjoy the Victorian toe style. Dont expect a modern hotel. Cleaning lady knocked on my door to clean before i was even checked out. Check out time is 11am she knocked around 830-9am Everybody is super attentive and helpful.

I was referred to this hotel and did not realize that it was not on the main island in Venice, Where I'd arranged for an 8am tour, but on another island, Lido. when I discovered this, over 24 hrs before our stay. I asked to cancel my reservation. not only did the hotel refuse, but it charged my for bpth nights!!! Not nice, nor what their cancellation policy stated!!! wou;d not recommend!!!

Lovely stay in an unusually old fashioned hotel. The rooms were lovely but the bed was so hard. Not sure if this is the norm for Italian hotels as all three that we stayed in had the same issue.

Easy to get to as it's right opposite the water bus stop. Our room was on the road side so it was extremely noisy, especially early in the morning with traffic. Great breakfast options and very friendly staff. The room was traditional , comfortable and very clean. Only real issue for me was the situation of the shower. The shower screen wouldn't move, so you had to climb in via the back of the bath but the bidet was in the way and nothing to grab hold of, worse when reversing out. Not an issue if you are young and nimble. I'm not. :)

I can't believe this hotel is 3.5 star. The location is very good, but that's all. The room is very old. I'm usually not particular about room condition, but this time even I feel bad. The location is fantastic, but I recommend the other hotel.

Another wonderful stay in this conveniently located hotel. Staff are very helpful and friendly and always quick to resolve problems and answer queries. I must say that prior to our stay they went to great effort to book our favourite local restaurant for us.
We were blessed with stunning sunsets over the lagoon from the rooftop as well as the balcony.

This was our third visit to The Riviera and our reasons for returning was the excellent service and accommodation previously provided.
On this occasion we discovered that our booking didn't include a room with a balcony - important for my wife's need for easily accessible fresh air.
After making our concerns known the Manager Piero Padovar make a phone call to me in the hotel and said that we could move room the next night - at a very reasonable additional charge.
We also discovered a bottle of champagne in our room the following day, which happened to be my birthday.
So a potentially disappointing experience was turned around with professionalism and generosity.
It remains our favourite hotel in Lido, Venice.

Great place to stay. It is right at the beginning of a street full of beautiful restaurants and shops. On the other side of the island are several beach resorts that you can walk to. It is also right across the street from where the water taxi drops you off to the island.

It was one of the best hotel I have been before. Well done all team for Riviera hotel.

We stayed 3 nights in panoramic room 3rd floor. Room had 3 tall french balconies viewing Venice over vaporetto / bus station. We think it's nice view.
Location is great.
Price was pretty good for this room (about 120€/ night).
Breakfast included basic scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages plus pancakes. Also some pasteries and fruit salad, yoghurt etc.
Nearby we rented bicycles and rode through the whole island. Had a quick swim at south west end of island (many locations with no people in sight).
We used vaporetto for island hopping (Burano, Murano etc).

After a long day of traveling, we really enjoyed the fact that Hotel Riviera was right across the street from the boat dock. The hotel also was very helpful in storing our luggage at the end of our stay for 5 hours before we needed to leave Lido. The front desk staff was always very helpful to answer our questions about many different things over the 3 days we were there. The young man one night shift was very helpful in looking up options for us to get off Lido and to our next destination in Venice during a Vaporetto water bus strike one day.
The view from our window of the water was very refreshing. It is a classic older hotel so our room was small but totally efficient for our needs for the 2 nights that we stayed. It was nice to have the breakfast included in our stay with a very nice selection of foods and coffee or tea. The people that worked in the restaurant were always friendly.

Room was good size and having a nice balcony really helped it feel more spacious. Everything was clean and AC worked well. Across the street from boat dock so very convenient but a little loud. I would stay here again.

Good place to stay, very convinient to the vaporetto to the Venici island and also jusi a small walk away from the beach, the hotel is a little rustic and outdated but with a lot of charm...
We had a room with a terras and a great view of the Venice skyline, during the late afternoon and evening lots of sun (very hot in the summertime!) I can recomment if you like charm and convenience

Reception staff were fantastic. Room was spacious and clean but could have done with additional plug socket.

The location was great right by the water bus stop and a marvellous view of Venice

Although the property it was the last stop when we took the water transportation the hotel was literally across the street and it was very convenient and not as busy

A cosy hotell though located in quite noisy area, OK with closed windows at nights. Breakfast is good, come early to enjoy it at the best (more choice). Take a table by the window, these are reserved for hotel guests, ask personnel for your espresso. Some receptionsts are very friendly, others not so much. There is a little terrace on one floor up if you want to drink your coffee there instead. Shower and window in the bathroom. The hotel is not new but clean. Wifi in the room.

The hotel is pure 1800s luxury, however there were a few issues. First off, the shower, which had virtually no pressure, was so small I doubt an elf would have felt clean afterwards. The room had a beautiful view of Venice, but the noise from the boats and the busses was constant. The decor was amazing, like it had not been touched since the 60s, and the bed super comfortable. I kept getting little crickets in my room which I shewed out. The fridge was a nice addition, but made a lot of noise too. I heard the hotel has just been bought by new owners as a partnership, and that the hotel is going to have some work done. It does need it, but this is a beautifully quaint place and I hope they dont change it too much, if they want my advice, just fit a wet-room dutch style bathroom and update the electrics (more plugs would be very useful). The one thing I really didnt enjoy was the breakfast- the coffee was mass-made jugs of filter coffee, which surprised me for a place in Venice where coffee is SO important! Also the juices were made from concentrate, the bread was too hard to eat, there wasnt much choice of hot food (fried ham & eggs) and the utensils were from 2 centuries ago! My advice to them would be to lay on a hot cooked breakfast (with potatoes, tomatoes, bacon, sausage, egg, etc) and to offer a self-service good quality bean-to-cup coffee machine with fresh fruits and fresh juices. The dining room its self was stunningly beautiful, also a restaurant during the day.

Very good location opposite the vaporetta buses which get you to the heart of Venice in 10 mins. Lots of restaurants and shops nearby and only a short walk to the lovely beach on the other side of the island. I booked a single room: had a double bed and plenty of storage space. The bathroom and shower were very small but again perfect for one person. Breakfast was adequate to set you up for the day and the restaurant food was very good. Staff friendly and willing to help with any queries, would stay there again.
