I have stayed here multiple times and I still always will recommend it to others, I think it offers a great all round experience for all the family however and they even provided a lovey treat for my partner in the room for her birthday. She was unable to eat them however as she is vegan but that’s no fault of the hotel . The main downside for us on this rare occurrence is the room we had was seemingly Ajoining with the neighbouring rooms and they were incredibly loud late into the night gone midnight. I even heard their phone alarms go off this morning at 6.30am. The walls are either very thin or the doors in between rooms offering insufficient sound deadening. It’s a shame as it was my partners first visit here , would have been nice if she got some sleep . An opportunity to come back and try again would be good in the future. Final note I think the car park fee is quite steep for people staying but I can live with it . Ryan

The Celtic Manor is one of my favourite places to stay in the U.K. The only small issue from my recent stay was that the Lift system cannot cope with the number of people staying. My room was on the 9th floor so using the stairs was not practical.

Very comfortable and very clean. Staff efficient and courteous. Lovely place to stay !

Room was lovely. Stay was lovely. Breakfast was a huge let down to the stay. Not worth paying extra. Mass catering. Understaffed. Had to ask multiple times for dairy alternatives as I am lactose intolerant.

Had a great time, the bed was too soft for us, we both have back issues so option to have a firmer mattress would be good.
Everything else was great.

This was my first time staying at the Celtic Manor and I will definitely be returning. The breakfast and the room was great. I really enjoyed my stay here and next time I will be definitely visiting the spa.

A decent hotel with needs a little bit of rod to bring it back to former glory

We have stayed at the Resort Hotel a number of times over the last 20 years and each time over the last 7 years we hope it would be better. Sadly it gets worse and won’t be returning.
We appreciate it will never be how it was 20 years ago but really the prices they charge with an awful customer service makes the whole experience sad to say the least. Don’t get me started on every extra they charge (car parking to name the worse skim of £20 a night) is in my opinion a total con.
The breakfast is awful, the rooms are dated, we had a family room and the beds were small and very uncomfortable. I could go on and on but to be honest can’t be bothered.
The only plus was we visited the driving range where the staff were very friendly and the very high tech gadgetry were enjoyed by us all.

Great stay, but the receptionist needs go on a customer service course. She was sour on greeting and checkin. It's like she didn't want to be there. Not informative,i had to ask the basics!!
Merlin's bar was decent, great service and pianist was great!
The parking outside was £10 to which should be free if your staying over! Shame!

We have talked about visiting the Celtic Manor resort for many years, we finally decided to book last month and spent Friday and Saturday night there.
We checked in online before arriving but discovered that it was unsuccessful. Rooms available from 4pm, but when we arrived at 5.40pm there was a queue. Fortunately five staff staffing reception so only waited five minutes.
I asked for a newspaper on both days and was surprised to be told that hotel did not provide that service. I would expect this at a 4 star, let alone a 5 star hotel.
Room on 10th floor, only three lifts and one seemed not to be always working, so residents would often get in even if lift not going way they wanted so at least they would be in. More lifts would improve visitor experience.
We were told hotel 85% full but restaurants and bars always had plenty of space. We received link before arrival suggesting that we book restaurant as soon as possible. However, this was unnecessary as we always found space at breakfast. Plenty of variety available at breakfast, including freshly made pastries.
We visited Forum Hotel Club (available to hotel residents). It was open 7am-10pm and provided a wide range of equipment. Pool also available and enjoyed pool, jacuzzi and sauna.

A fabulous location for a work event with lovely rooms and a really pleasant atmosphere. The car park is a bit of a trek and the lifts are a nuisance but that’s just being picky.

The hotel was nice albeit the beds were very uncomfortable but that could be personal preference. I had booked a superior king size and it was in my booking but we had a Queen superior! I had previously mentioned I was coeliac and yet they put normal biscuits in the room. When I asked for something different they could not give me any. Breakfast was nice but again they only had the option of white gf bread. No brown for a healthy option.
It was extremely busy hotel and no sooner had you finished with your dishes the servers were straight on it and cleared them away.

Great food. Pricey for drinks . Decor in rooms need revamping. Balcony was very dirty and the bathroom grouting was stinking !

We stayed on the 6th floor in the signature suits. The room was very spacious and comfortable. We had a king size bed, sofa and 2 arm chairs. There was a coffee pods machine, iron, ironing board and hairdryer. The bathroom had a separate bath and shower and should we have chosen to use the leisure facilities, towelling robes and slippers were provided. On a nice day the balcony would have been lovely to sit outside and watch the world go by. We ate in the Pad restaurant in the evening and the food was amazing and very good value for money. We also enjoyed the singer & pianist who played in Merlin’s bar and she got everyone involved and up dancing. Breakfast in the morning was excellent and we ate in Steak on six which was intimate and again had lovely views overlooking the grounds. Throughout our stay all staff were curtious and helpful. We have stayed many times and this time will definitely not be our last.

Was staying on 8th floor. Room was very nice and clean but windows need resealed as you had the roar of the M4 even at that distance. Had a poor nights sleep due to this. Lifts were slow and always a que but hotel was quite busy. Apart from this it’s a fine hotel

Considering it was half term and busy hotel was calm and pleasant. Pool was lovely and breakfast very good. Bed comfy and will use this hotel again

Loved everything thing about the hotel but, more attention to detail is needed in the room cleaning, e.g. paintwork needs wiping down, more dusting required.
Only disappointment was the changing facilities in the health club. Changing room is way to small for use by both the club and the spa. We waited 10 minutes for a space to be able to change.

I was only there for a few hours and had no opportunity to experience the facilities.

Hotel parking is £20 a night for guests at under ground car park, or a walk away for £10 a night. I think this is excessive to charge on top of stay. Hotel is nice but tired, one lift broken and rooms clean and plesant but showing signs of age. Upon checking in the app didnt work, and reception gave us no information.no info about our booked breakfast, or about check out times, spa facilities etc. Poor service in that sense although all staff were pleasant. Just feel like i probably could of booked premier inn for similar stay at half the price.

Firstly why should you have to pay ridiculous prices to park a car, if this was in the middle of a big city I would understand.
Also this is a completely cash less resort. I did not know about this before I went and I had cash on me for the our stay. Cash is the legal tender for the country and one of the largest hotels in our country do not take the legal tender. I was made to feel

My stay at the Celtic manor was underwhelming to say the least, me and my partner were very excited about the trip and it got off to a poor start when we got there as we discovered our toilet wasn’t flushing and our bathroom was flooded, however the complimentary upgrade was a nice touch, would also advise booking your meals in advance as they do get booked quite quickly, also when I ordered a pint which for 7.25 I didn’t expect to get a glass with lipstick stains on it, the staff were friendly when fixing this issue, and if I’m being honest that £50 hidden fee as like a deposit is something they kept very quiet, and I’m still waiting to receive this back, personally I wouldn’t recommend this especially for the price of the room and also the price you pay just for a few drinks.

Such a beautiful hotel with super friendly and professional staff. So many food choices and they have free private transfers to any restaurant that’s booked through them that isn’t onsite. The spa is as beautiful as it is online. Will definitely be returning

Perfectly acceptable, just very dated, expensive for what it is, tiny baths for the room type, generally mediocre.

Reason why I have scored them down is because they have charged me for food I did not have. They agreed to remove the charge of £38 at check out. It was pending for days on my card only for the charge to be reinstated 3 days later. I have a screen shot of the pending credit, Shame really, we would of returned in February but this dishonesty by the reception staff has put us right off. The checking in by the way was very poor too. We fed this back as we got ignored twice before being served but had no reply to that either.

Room was very average was belittled by members of staff and felt very out of place and not welcomed had stains on bathroom sink the bath was dirty the view I had was terrible, it wasn’t my best experience at the Celtic normally I feel welcomed and have a nice modern room but it was a terrible stay I won’t be returning I could of paid £60 for the quality of service I had last night absolutely terrible

Signature rooms are still reasonable but looking a bit worn and really let down by ancient balcony doors which are tough to open and let M4 hum and cold draft in - we could smell cigarette smoke coming into our room. Steak on Six and health club facilities are still good and Olive Tree and Merlins ok. Not a luxury experience but decent.
