Beautiful place

We really wanted to love this place. Location was perfect for seeing everything in Venice in a short amount of time. It is central to everything. The decor is very Vintage Venetian and ornate. The beds were actually large (king size if you paid for it) and comfortable, and the bathrooms well appointed and good water pressure. BUT, our very big problem was that in an unseasonable warm February, the hotel has refused to turn on the air conditioning and opted to keep the heater on blast. The rooms cannot individually control this. We were told that we could open the windows, and they brought us a very small fan that does very little to cool us. Well we opened the windows, and got eaten by mosquitos all night. Our whole group of eight were miserable for 4 nights with dozens of bites between us. We were unable to sleep most nights, waking up sweating. It is unreasonable to believe that anyone at this hotel has been comfortable during our stay, and the hotel was completely full. The temps for us in the day time this February have been in the 60’s often having us shed all our coats and bask in the sun. How does a hotel not make the unilateral decision to then make the air conditioner available? Another problem was the variability in accommodation. We all paid the same rate for each room, and some had way more space than others, coffee machines in room (others not) very large bathrooms, while others were tiny, and some had hard flooring (stone) while others had carpet.

Amazing location and staff

Absolutely gorgeous - location and hotel, it’s beautiful! Staff were always willing to assist and the room was very Venetian along with a private water taxi to and from the airport made it more special!

Really great location, only a few minutes away from San Marco square. The hotel has lovely decor, lovely size bathroom and ceilings were high. Nice Venetian style.

The staff was amazing. Our room was very nice. Loved the bed and pillows. Amazing view and terrace.

We stayed for 3 nights at hotel Colombina. Pros: Walkable to every part of Venice, nice room, quiet. View was nice, could see the Bridge of Sighs. Reception was friendly. Cons: Breakfast was pretty bad. Limited selection and food was fresh. For example we ate Bread that was hard and stale. Lettuce leaves were wilting and not fresh. Yogurt was hard and dry with Granola that was mushy. Room cleanliness was not great. Rubbish that was on the floor from the previous occupants was still there until the last day that we left the room. It was obviously not cleaned. Hair on the basin, Hair on the bathtub from the housekeeping. Hair on the toilet floor was not cleaned and was still there throughout our stay. Coffee, shower amenities and water were not replenished throughout our stay.

Don't miss the bar in this lovely hotel with the most accommodating staff. We still talk about the bar food. We were without our luggage for our stay, and they were kind enough to help us call the Venice airport, as our Italian is limited. Great location and definitely take the hotel arranged water taxi from the airport. Will stay here again on our next trip.

Great area to stay for a first time traveler.

Amazing location

Hotel is in a great location for exploring the main tourist sites. Breakfast leaves a lot to be desired -one morning people had to queue for tables and we were served an old cold coffee pot. Despite going out one morning before 9 our room was not cleaned until the afternoon so we had to wait in the lobby whilst it was cleaned. No apology was offered. A very average hotel in a great location. The porters were very helpful

Great place to stay and convenient location.

This beautiful hotel is within walking distance to Rialto bridge and San Marco square. Very clean. Staff is courteous and accommodating, special mention for Ouey who took the time to book my trip to Florence and answered my many questions with a smile. Highly recommended this place!

Everything was perfect

Great location. Three minute walk to Doges Palace. Right in the heart of Venice. Paid extra, but it was worth the location. Breakfast was good, not great. But it had enough options that you could definitely find something to fill you up.

This hotel was a breathe of fresh air. A family away from home. They added an additional night with only half a day notice due to a change in our travel plans. Breakfast is included and the buffet is lovely. I’m actually sad to leave Venice.

Best location, superb room, actual 4 star hotel.

Great hotel. Great customer service. Too bad the tide was high on the day we left, cant use the water taxi directly at the hotel. Nicest bed among our 4 hotels in Italy. Water pressure is not stable and hence the sudden change of temperature, but manageable.

I would absolutely stay at Hotel Colombina again. Everyone I interacted with were very friendly and kind, and it was a great location. Special shout-out to Evangeline from breakfast who went out of her way to set me up with a breakfast bag when she found out that I had to leave for the airport before breakfast opened!

Everything about this stay was wonderful 💜 location, rooms, bar, breakfast, and the staff was exceptional. One of the best hotels my family and I have ever stayed in , we highly recommend it

Lovely comfortable room, great service, super breakfast!

The hotel is situated just a few minutes walk from St. Marks Square but tucked away so it's quiet. The hotel is a lovely old building. The rooms are lovely and what makes the hotel are the staff. All are extremely helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Would recommend anyone to stay here, you will not regret it.

This is a wonderful place to stay. Amazing staff and near everything you want to see. Highly suggest some pre game time at the hotel bar. Pompeo and his staff are World Treasures.
