It was a good choice for a few days break. It's a massive vacation club combining hotel, apartments, suites and villas for a village sized complex with many pools and restaurants behind the beach front. You don't get access to all areas depending on your wrist band status, plus specialist restaurants need be booked well in advance. Our room in original Palm Resort was dated but clean and comfortable. Everything worked in our and was keep clean. The Gardens / Grounds are lovely and everything was sign posted in English so fairly easy to navigate you way around. The Food was good and plentaful and drinks was okay. Many Bars, swimming and beach areas to choose from plus day and night day shoes in some areas. Overall pleassnt stay, no complaints!

The power went out several times. The toilets do not flush well. Some friends had issues with no hot water. The "included" food and drinks at the buffet and bars were average. More/better drink options at the "casino," but it's only open 6 PM - 2 AM. There was a lot of confusion about when you could make dinner reservations for the non-buffet restaurants. There are no dance clubs onsite, despite advertising that there are 4 of them. This was my first all inclusive experience, so I can't really compare it to anything else.

There was bad smell next to the room. Also the staff from the pearl restaurant that works in the morning has no customer service, used to pass by us and never ask us if we wanted something to drink, the only way they got close to us was to tell us that they were gonna close.

The staff is terrible they say no to everything they are not helpful at all and they just dont care rooms are run down old and dirty the main pool area is horrible it need urgent repair, drinks are terrible not alot of food variety always the same things at the buffet and food it tasteless i have a terrible experience and asked for management and they were never available. Do your self a favor and Stay away from this resort they should not be in business. Do not recommend at all worst resort i have been to and worst experience. STAY AWAY!

We were mistreated by the sales rep on the second day we stayed at the Confresi Palm Beach in Porto Plata. She worked in the membership department and constantly implied that my friend and I were gay and in a relationship, even after we denied that we were in a relationship. This seemed inappropriate and homophobic. Adding insult to injury, we heard her say the word "maricon" to someone during our time with her. If she thought we were gay why would she be using that word within earshot? I wouldn't recommend this resort to ANYONE. Especially LGBTQ people.

I loved my stay at Cofresi palm. I was about to cancel my reservation and thanks God I didn't pay attention to the reviews because it was totally different. The hotel is nice, the food is good and asserted, the staff is so nice, the entertainment, the pools lovely, the beach was so good, the drinks fantastic I loved it and I will come.back soon. Everything was good....

Not enough communication with the resort prior to our arrival. The room I booked online didn’t look like the one I got. Expedia show me a different room pictures. Not what I expected...! We wanted another room, I even wanted to pay more for a better room, but they couldn’t help us. Not enough entertainment at night, the disco was under construction, we couldn’t dance at all…! We arrived Friday afternoon, we wanted to make reservations to some of the restaurants in the resort but we couldn’t because apparently they didn’t have enough tables available. We finally got a reservation for Sunday and Monday night, the only problem we had to do the check out on Tuesday. We lose most of our time going to the guest service every day for that. We are not happy ..! Not coming back to this resort…!

This was one of the worst places I have ever stayed at, let's start by the check in only 2 clerks for so many tourists over 2 hours to check in. Then my room it had cockroaches all over the restroom, the AC did not work for 2 days I called customer service at the hotel they did not care I have pictures and videos the room had mold on the ceiling and walls I have pictures as well the room was very hoomid clothes felt wet, the roaches were all over my belongings and over my toothbrushes I told the staff all this they didn't even offer to give me new toothbrushes thanks got I had a car rental and was able to go buy new ones. 4 days past I contacted Expedia and I wanted to cancel this reservation with no luck, but at least after I contacted Expedia they changed my room a bit better but sliding door was not working and ac again not working. I stayed at this resort for 14 days very bad experience overall the food is dull at best and the a la carte I was only able to get 4 reservations on my 2 week stay. Another thing to mention half the amenities at this resort are for timeshare owners you can't even get coffee at the coffee bar and this is the only resort I have been that don't make margaritas or mojitos or caipiriñas or a lot of other drinks unless you are owner or upgrade to VIP total scam.

I was excited for this trip but things took a turn. I had an issue with the room and they happily gave me another room. The room was just ok. There was no hot water the entire trip!! The room was super moist with lots of condensation. Housekeeper took it among herself to just open my room door without knocking and I found something my food at one of the buffets. What a great way to celebrate your birthday

I just returned from the Cofresi Palm. Do yourself a favor, DO NOT STAY HERE.For starters, our room looked nothing like the room in the photos. We had no hot water for our entire stay (6 days/5 nights), the paint was peeling in the bathtub, the toilet paper holder was broken, the refrigerator was leaking & I found a dead roach in the bathroom after housekeeping cleaned the room. We complained about the lack of hot water for days. Apparently, maintenance tried to fix it but flooded the room below us. That was the only attempt to repair it. When we told them about the refrigerator leaking, housekeeping used our room towels to wipe it up but never replaced the towels.We had to ask for towels a few times before they were replaced. When we asked why our room did not look like the photos on Expedia, they told us that Expedia must have switched the photos.The better restaurants require reservations which is fine but then claimed many restaurants to be fully booked. They managed to squeeze us in one evening. We were shocked at how empty the place was. We found out later from other guests that they limit the reservations so that people are forced to eat at their buffet restaurants-which were not good at all.I tried contacting Expedia 5 times. Each time was told that they are looking into our complaint. I had to consistantly reach out to Expedia. Their promises to get back to me never happened. I had to reach out to them again today. They offered us a credit of $ 79.00. What a joke!

Rooms smell mouldy, the air conditioning is dripping water, and the balcony door doesn't shut properly when the hook lock is pinned, The bathroom sink doesn't drain well, and there is constant knocking on the door every morning by maids, do not disturb sign gets stolen or disappears, constant phone calls and nagging by the timeshare rep., had to pay for internet tor each device per day to get access to the internet from the room i.e. cell phone, laptop, tablet, etc, the Internet doesn't work anywhere else on the property, you get 1-hour free internet access around the lobby upon signing up. Have to pay for the safety box in the room per day. Limited to 3 restaurant reservations and only certain restaurants are available per day.

I BOOKED FOR ALL MY FRIENDS AT THIS PACE AND IT WAS A DISASTER TO ALL AND THEY WERE LAUGHING AT ME FOR MAKING SUCH A CHOICE.

The room smelled like mold. We observed Black spots on the ceiling. Very rundown. The bedding and pillows are at least 10 years only. No dresser only one shared nightstand. We had to organize belongs on the floor. No hot water for 3 days. The hotel would allow us to move rooms until the third day of not hot water. We Moved To a smaller rundown room with no working light bulbs. We couldn’t get a reservation for dinner. Forced to eat at the buffet the entire time. Staff are not helpful at all. Staff seemed angry and bothered by the guest. I would not recommend and wouldn’t even stay there again if it was free. Overall a horrible experience.

Nice room with great bathroom including a late walk in shower and jacuzzi tub! Decor was a little sparse and room was a little damp- but overall we were happy with it. Housekeeping was excellent! We were close to the beach . Pools were great and the private beach for VIP clientele was great!! Food was very good- nice choice in the buffets and we ate at a couple of reservation restaurants- Moomtaz and the Asian one- both of which were very nice! Lots of steps- resort is very hilly- kept us fit- lol!! Overall excellent stay and great value for money.

Room was clean and plenty of space with a balcony, food was good, staff was friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the pools and sun loungers at the beach, the children's play area/pool and the nightly evening entertainment.
