Love the history of the building and how they kept that character. While the walls are thin and you can hear everything going on in the hallways, i have zero complaints. Room was comfortable and provided everything that we needed.

It was a very comfortable stay at the Palace hotel. The room was well decorated in Victorian style and fun to be in. It had a great view of the water. Friendly staff there’s a little bit of noise till 10 o’clock but then it gets quiet at night. Very close to restaurants bars, and activities. Highly recommended.

Great location! Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and comfortable. There are lots of stairs to climb to get to your room and no elevator, so you get your exercise too! Would stay here again!

I rented two rooms. #5 was comfortable but the bed in #2 was bad. It had no support and felt like an old box spring. We really enjoyed the hotel in general. Love the different rooms. However I don't plan on coming back and not because of the hotel itself, we like it. But for the first time I in PT I experienced extremely loud thumping music starting at 11 pm just a few doors down the street. It kept me awake. Good if you're going to the town to party but bad if you're going there for rest.

The Palace Hotel has such a nice quirky Victorian ambiance, you can tell they take pride in honoring the history of the place. We came for a weekend getaway to unwind from a hectic work week; the first night was wonderfully restful and we enjoyed a quiet night and were able to sleep great. However, the second night was terrible! We were woken up around with loud banging and yelling that went on for hours, so we were unable to sleep at all. We found the next day that there was a violent domestic situation in a nearby room and the police had to show up and address it.

This property advertised as being pet friendly. We were notified after our arrival that our dog was not allowed there. It made for a very uncomfortable situation and ruined our vacation.

This hotel is so charming and quiet. Our room was very clean and spacious and I LOVED the claw foot tub. There are many things to enjoy about this place except that the bed was absolutely terrible. It was obviously quite old, had a huge dip on one side that sagged down and you could feel the springs. If it wasn’t for the bed I’d have given it 5 stars!

Love staying at the Palace! Staff is super friendly and the uniqueness and beauty of the building is great! Location is ideal for shopping and dining. The little beach area across the street is wonderful too. Great for early morning sunrises and evening sunsets.

My husband and I frequently visit Pt. Townsend, but this was our first time staying at the Palace Hotel. From first entering, the staff was very courteous and welcoming. The hotel has a warm and cozy feel that makes you want to explore its nooks and cranies where you can play a game of Cribbage or enjoy a book.
The Palace is very conveniently located. We were steps from the Fountain Cafe where we enjoyed a great dinner. Make sure to grab an individually brewed pour-over cup of coffee from Better Living Through Coffee! Soak on the Sound will allow you to fully unwind in their salt baths.
Our two night stay was relaxing, comfortable, and welcoming in a very clean room. We will be returning!

The Palace Hotel is in a beautiful old building (the Captain Tibbals building I think) which was built at the end of the 19th century. The hotel really gives a great feel for the history of the building and the area while still providing most modern comforts. We stayed in the Miss Rose room for New Year's Eve and enjoyed the room's ample space for two people and the long claw foot tub. The very high ceilings definitely evoke a different time, as do the stairs up to the third floor. Due to the age and historical importance of the building there is no elevator. Also no A/C but we didn't miss that in late December. The staff universally were friendly, helpful and courteous; a smile goes a long way in Port Townsend. Parking in back was easy; we didn't notice and didn't ask about luggage carts. Kind of a moot point due to all of the stairs. The hotel is located right on Water Street in downtown with easy walking access to wonderful shops, eateries and ice cream. In room coffee is adequate and two great coffee shops are across the street. I highly recommend the Palace for a winter visit based on its historical charm and unique feel, the hotel's location and its staff. Plus I got in a solid quad workout.

The Palace in Port Townsend is a classic old downtown hotel. The rooms and public areas are charming and functional. Other than some wiring idiosyncracies- we could not disentangle some electric cords to get the bedside lamps plugged in- it was lovely

The Palace Hotel is a charming downtown hotel in Port Townsend within easy walking distance of shopping and restaurants. Of course, almost nothing was open on Christmas Day. We still enjoyed our stay. Beautiful decorations. Comfy bed. The room has a high ceiling and it took quite awhile to heat it up with a baseboard electric panel. I suggest that they provide tissues. There weren't any. Also, probably Christmas is the only day this happens, but some kind of simple breakfast would have been appreciated. Our only choice turned out to be Starbucks inside the local Safeway store. We did have a coffee pot in the room and the coffee was tasty. It was also nice to have real china cups instead of disposable ones.

Very cute historic hotel in the center of town. Lovely sitting areas in the hallway, and beautiful Christmas displays. Central to everything. But….. no elevator and nobody to help with luggage up the stairs. Our room (facing the back alley) had a very strong fried food smell, probably from the restaurant next door. All of our clothes had this smell stuck to them when we returned home. We asked at the front desk how we could ensure our room is made up and were told to hang the make-up-room sign at the door, which we did. Room wasn’t touched. Next day, we asked housekeeping directly - again, room wasn’t touched, although they did bring fresh towels.

It’s a charming hotel on the main walk way of Port Townsend. It is an older hotel so we were prepared for the stairs and some older amenities.

Gorgeous old hotel with great antiques in the room. Loved the fainting couch! We had a beautiful view of the water from our room, too. Wonderful operating train set in the lobby and festive holiday decorations.
