Wonderful front desk service. Love the crampons. We had quite a trek in the snow to our cabin, which was unexpected. Temperature was hard to control with the gas stove. Overall, it was a wonderful trip and we had a great time!

This place is the perfect lodge for solo travelers. Quiet, relaxing, and just what the doctor ordered. The added breakfast, makes the morning for a day is skiing run smoothly.

It was nice and remote. Extremely quiet. I barely knew anyone else was there except for seeing someone in the parking lot.

Very unique place, came with stove small fridge, pots and pans, nice gas fireplace and clean efficient bathroom. Requires a sporty quick walk through snow if snowing hard the day you arrive. Staff is the best staff I have ever experienced from any hotel. They helped me bring my expedition sized luggage to the cabin the evening I arrived and this took two very nice gentlemen 3 trips. They answered my calls to the front desk with my name. They were simply outstanding

The setting of these facilities is absolutely unbelievable. Nestled near the Mammoth lakes at the base of the mountain it is truly a nature lovers paradise. Cabin had no TV but who needs one? It had everything else you could need. The workers were plowing snow and shoveling every cabin deck as needed. The walk is a bit tough if you get winded easily. But worth it. Would stay again.

The lodge is in a great location, and the staff that works at the Tamarack Lodge is AMAZING. That being said, a few minus points are, the rooms that are not detached from the main building are extremely small. One can hear even people talking in the next room, the beds are uncomfortable to sleep in.

Love this place!!

Very cool historic property with a lot going for it.
Negative: Room was drafty (there was a strong snow/windstorm the night we stayed).
Suggestion: To save money do not provide as many towels

Beautiful view and cozy cabins

Lovely stay. Everything was great, from the staff/service to the room. Historic lodging can sometimes be cold or dusty but this place was sufficiently warm and very well kept. There was complimentary quality coffee in the day and delicious apple cider in the evenings. There was even a guided nature snowshoe walk in the morning that we sadly didn't have time to participate in. Nice snowy walk to the 2 nearby lakes in the winter, but undoubtedly even better hiking options in the summer. Road to property was a teeny bit icy and wheel pressure dropped quite a bit overnight, but our non winter equipped Tesla ended up fine.

Staff is super nice. Upgrade us after finding out it’s our first time stay.

Rustic stand-alone cabins. Street parking only and you must carry your belongings from the street to the cabin. The paths were uphill and icy during our visit. Care was required to avoid slipping and falling. Take advantage of the complimentary crampons the hotel offers and be safe. Our one bedroom cabin had a kitchen with utensils/pans/pots/plates/mugs/cups and was spacious and comfortable. Fun stay.

Beautiful location. Cabin was clean and right in front of the lake, staff was wonderful. We will be back again.

Staff was super friendly and helpful. however our bed had tons of hairs and seemed like they had not been washed from the previous client. Also, room is extremely small. You have to also share bathroom and restroom which is awful if you have to use the bathroom in the night. We also couldn’t sleep- beds are super hard and we kept hearing little mice in our room. The walls are super thin you can hear your neighbors snoring wtc. Location is great.

We enjoy that the cabins are away from the main town. You feel secluded from the crowds.

Staff is very very attentive, property ownership is lucky to have this great combination of employees. Bruce at the front desk was superb! The Rooms need a major upgrade. Spend some money and get better results.

Beautiful area, warm and cozy. There was a mouse in the kitchen that ate our crackers and a spider on the bed, but we still enjoyed our visit

Staff was amazing and very accommodating, shout out to Tim and Veronica for being so pleasant and welcoming.

Nice older property. Had a few issues during the night. First i was shocked by the heater when attempting to turn it up, the toilet would clog and would not flush and had a few visitors (RATS) attempt to enter the room around midnight and 0300. Other than that the staff was extremely nice and the area around is beautiful.

We were on a two week road trip and this was our favourite hotel on the whole trip. Gorgeous location, great service, lovely touches throughout. The hot cider in the evenings, pianist, complimentary morning coffee, towel sculptures on the bed, it was all lovely. They gave great recommendations for walks at the reception too. We didn't get a chance to eat in the restaurant as we were out exploring but the food smelled great too.

We rented a cabin and loved it! The staff was great and we were surprised to learn how much history the lodge had. Would recommend!

This was a bit more far from the yosemitte vally than we expected then we had to cancel the second night and the place was greiciouse enough to grant us a 50 percent refund. The rooms are small, no fridge or tv. The outside is amazing by the lake, and the staff are super friendly and happy to answer all of our questions.

Beautiful cabin, beautiful location, well stocked kitchenette for cooking—on three day trip we made most of our meals there. Comfy bed, nice to have access to lodge with morning coffee, warm place to hang out, mini cocktail bar. Also a mini market available for a couple of items we forgot. Loved it!

We reserved cabin #4 for 3 nights early September for my best friends wedding. The 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom w/ kitchen was very well laid out, with a nice seating deck and built-in Bluetooth speakers. I do wish there was a local TV or streaming service set up with a screen but you had to request a 24 inch LCD from the front desk that only played DVD’s…nostalgic but not at the prices we paid. What if I wanted local news? Other than that, housekeeping is by request but was absolutely wonderful on Saturday, before all the groomsmen got ready. Hot water gets VERY hot, and water pressure in shower is great. Could definitely use more clothes hanging in 1 of the bedrooms. Sound proofing was amazing because we had a small gathering and you could hardly hear anyone from the outside with all windows shut. There is a good fireplace and central heat, no A/C.

Great rustic mountain resort. Staff was great. Good place to go unplug.

Historic lodge with options to fish right out front. Excellent white table cloth restaurant. Be sure to make reservations well in advance as popular.
