The host, Pasquale, was very communicative prior to arrival with detailed instructions on parking and bus transportation to the location. The room was totally renovated and made use of every bit of space. The bed was up a winding staircase in a loft area, so that might not be ideal for someone, but it was fine for us. I appreciated how clean everything was and the bathroom was modern and beautiful with nice tile and heated floors in the main room.
The location is right off the main street in the Sassi with a variety of restaurants nearby and the shared terrace offered a great view at night of the beautifully lit Sassi. The complimentary breakfast included a nice variety of fruit, pastries, and great coffee. Overall, I loved our stay here and only wish we had stayed longer to explore Matera more. We will have to come back!

The facilities are modern and comfortable, the location is tricky to reach by car due to the ZTL but it is otherwise very much worth it, and anyway Pasquale was available to guide us on any questions we had, very much recommended!
The property is inside the city's ZTL so you can only access by car in certain timeframes. If you plan properly and in advance it is however absolutely not a problem.
The only other note is regarding the city distribution. The property is in the lowest part of the city, which means you have to be prepared to walk up many stairs to reach many other touristic attractions. However, stairs are anyway hardly avoidable in Matera, so it is more of a PSA than a downside.

Location was perfect. Room was lovely and clean, at a good price. Roof terrace had great views of the whole city, and the free bottle of Prosecco on arrival a welcome touch. Great advice from Pasquale on where to visit. Thanks!
