We had a lovely time at the hotel. The staff were really lovely and friendly both on Friday night and Saturday morning. Food (dinner and breakfast) were delicious and reasonably priced. Our rooms were gorgeous and really comfy and quiet. Thank you all for looking after us

Lovely hotel with great staff, only slight issue is the floors are incredibly thin so was woken by the sound of staff talking in the dining room beneath my room but otherwise great hotel, location and incredibly comfy bed!

Lovely characterful property within a few steps from the market town of Bedford which offers some amazing restaurants such as: Higgins Pantry, Indiya, pizzeria's, Chinese etc.... Also Bedford has a jewel in its crown the River Ouse with the Embankment that runs by it. The De-Parys is very close to Bedford Park which is also worth a visit.

Great hotel! Quirky room

Overall a lovely 1 night stay. Sadly no hot water in the morning, so a cold shower.

Nice place to recover during a business trip. Rooms are nice and confortable. Good choice of beer and food in the pub below. Very good breakfast!

Pleasant rooms with separate bath and toilet cubicle (plus sink). Clean and comfortable for a short break. The mattress was a bit soft for our taste.
Breakfast is excellent - the landlady (I presume) came round on the first morning to check that things were spot on for us.

Lovely stay

The room was very large, of a quirky “distressed” design , comfortable four poster and two baths, plenty of hot water and warm. Some simple maintenance would be good- dead lightbulbs, broken window glass and slightly blocked sink for example. Breakfasts were very good as was breakfast service. Sunday evening meal was mediocre.

Lovely clean hotel which offers great value for money.
Just booked our second stay....

Lovely room and staff! Parking was a bit difficult but the room and breakfast made up for this. Room was clean and had everything you could need. Breakfast was lovely and lots of different choices.

we arrived to check in and we were handed a key and a fob and we were advised if we are to get back late we should use the fob to get into the hotel via the side door. We got to our room and we were surprised to find the toilet was in the corner of the room with frosted glass for privacy. The shower over the bath was in the side of the room with nothing not even a shower curtain for privacy, and the sink was an arms reach from the side of the bed. We got ready and went out for the evening and arrived back at the hotel around midnight. We got to the side door to find the fob was not working! After multiple attempts of trying different codes on the keypad trying to use the fob we couldn’t get in. We tried banging on the door to see if anybody would come to the door to let us in. Nobody came. We then tried calling the hotel only to find nobody was working in the hotel at this point and nobody was answering the phone. With the car keys in the room and no other means of getting in, after an hour outside, We ended up having to push the door as far as we could to just about get one of our hands through to reach the green button inside the hotel to release the magnetic strip at the top of the door so we could get in. However as we had all of our weight on the door so we could sneak a hand in, we ended up falling to the ground. The next morning on check out we told the staff what happened and all they said was “as long as nothing is broken that’s all that matters”
Appalling service

Unfortunately the bedroom surfaces were covered with dust. Apart from this everything else was excellent

Stayed for 1 night in the second level down room. Really good stay and it was quiet. Great service and clean room. Really good breakfast and parking is plentiful

Noisy hotel, especially at night. Were not told that the hotel was also a pub. Bed was not comfortable. Ensuite arrangements in room were very strange - toilet almost part of the room. Staff were all helpful and courteous.

Having booked a room specifying it was including our 5 year old, I’m not sure why they put us in a room directly above their private dining area, which was hosting a 30th birthday party on the night we stayed.
Poor soundproofing meant we had a terrible nights sleep.
Not a great place to stay with a family, but would be great for couples etc having a night out.

The best breakfast I have had the hotel is very cleaner, bed super comfortable, staff are very friendly.

Superb hotel….lovely staff

An old Victorian house converted by using glass partitions in the room to create en suite and wardrobe. Bed very comfortable and warm.
Food was a letdown. Service was slow and dinner quality was below par (dry fish pie and chewy duck). Serving staff universally pleasant. Could do with some refurbishment.

Once shabby chic now verging on shabby shabby with broken fixtures and fittings. Bed comfy and clean but room and environs is showing signs of needing a makeover/spruce up as it remains as it was when it reopened in 2014.

Friendly staff, nice room - spacious and comfortable bed, excellent breakfast, good location, competitive price. Things to consider would be limited and unsupervised parking and higher than usual noise levels due to thin walls and wooden floors everywhere.

Booked 'very lovely room' which is advertised on hotels.com as having a king-size bed, disappointed to find out it was only a double.
The room was clean and tidy and nicely styled, though we didn't like the glass doors on the toilet with a large hole to use for opening the door where the handle would normally be but that's personal preference.
The main issue we had was being woken up at 6.30am by staff dragging and banging furniture in the restaurant room directly below our room, which continued for over 30mins so we were unable to get back to sleep. Very disappointing and frustrating, especially after a late night the previous night and expecting to be able to sleep-in the following morning.
We mentioned this to a staff member on checking out and he told us that he had ‘already dealt with it having spoken to the staff moving furniture and made them stop as soon as he arrived’ which was also at 6.30am - why the delay?! – regardless, the noise went on far too long and our feedback was essentially dismissed by the staff member, neither of which we felt was acceptable.

Really enjoyed my stay at D'Parys. Staff were lovely and helpful, chefs made us a dinner late just as kitchen was closing. Food was lovely. The rooms were super cute all contained in one room. Great location too.

Amazing room with most things you could need. The design was brilliant. However it was starting to look a little tired, the desk lamp didn't work and there was no easy place to apply makeup.

What an amazing hotel. It was a simply beautiful room. The staff in the restaurant below were wonderful, especially the manager who was very friendly and easy to talk to. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. You wont go wrong with a stay here.

Lovely welcome to the hotel and very pleased with rooms (and breakfast).
Just take ear plugs as your hear everything from the bar downstairs and the bedrooms next to you.

Extraordinary quirky hotel with oodles of character and wonderful staff. Food was also very good and room all very independent and interesting. Oldy worldy and perfectly positioned for town and park.

Lovely visit to our regular home away from home in Bedford.
Bed super comfortable as always. Staff very friendly.
Breakfast is amazing as usual and they now have EV charging points.

The hotel was very nice. The room was small but had everything needed.
The service was excellent and Magdelena was not only serving in the evening but was then serving breakfast.
The evening meal was ok (burger over done) but breakfast was very good.
I would definitely stay again.

The hotel is lovely upstairs unit we were able to open window for fresh air service was good staff friendly. Only negative no elevator have to climb stairs, other thing walls really really thin could hear everything in next room.

Very disappointing. Room 4 was next to public toilets so disturbed until after 11. Burger for evening meal was overcooked and expensive. At breakfast the kipper hadn't even been cooked i.e still raw and cold. Did replace but shouldn't have even happened. Not impressed at all.

Stay was amazing. Staff was very professional and polite. Only issue was that there was no extractor fans for the toilet, as it was part of the bedroom.

Excellent rooms and service. And the food is amazing, highly recommend and I'll definitely be booking again
