Marga is an excellent host, and we enjoyed our stay! The VRBO is very clean, spacious, and stocked. With 10 family members (2 children), the private baths were appreciated! The quiet setting was always welcome after our days adventures. Public bus transportation is by the property. The washing machine availability is great (takes a long time to run a load). There’s a nice local farm stand across the road! Il Falco in Montfort is delicious for take-out! Oudewater is a lovely town w/ a delicious bakery and Stads Cafe.Things to know: car and bike rental are recommended, arrange bikes in advance with Marga. The bus schedule is every 30 minutes, if on time, so time evaporates quickly ( we did not have either, and it was VERY inconvenient). Bring Euros as credit cards are not accepted for take-out and other establishments. There are 3 terrier dogs who often run out barking when walking from the bus stop to VRBO. They were not aggressive, however, our grandson was scared to walk. The house sits among animal barns, hay storage, and a cement wall flanks one side of the VRBO, you will pass through daily to access VRBO. Two bedrooms face this wall which was not expected or visible from pictures. There is not a clothing dryer, rather drying racks which was challenging as some family packed light. The listing pictures appear as though cows graze in a field by the house, not accurate. Shampoo and conditioner are not provided.

Awesome stay! And Marga was great. We really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. We liked the small surrounding towns. Such a change from a stay in some of the busy areas.

We loved our nine day stay at this VRBO. The bedrooms and baths were wonderful. Beds were comfy!! Bedrooms were very roomy, had great storage and were very sound proof. The dining table and kitchen space could not have been better. Everything was nice and clean and every member of our three families enjoyed being there. We had six children under 12 years of age and they loved being able to play soccer in the backyard and they even created a fishing pole out of a long stick and caught a few fish. It was an absolutely perfect place for children that age although watching them by the water was necessary. We were close to several little grocery stores and the kitchen was more than adequate with everything you needed for cooking meals. The table seated 12 very easily and was a wonderful place to sit and play games as well. Our children and grandchildren loved watching the dairy operate and seeing the cows close up and keeping track of them. Several evenings we saw lots of hot air balloons float by near the property which made for great excitement. We planned day trips to various Netherland cities and this property was a nice distance from most places. We would highly recommend this property and would stay there again if we were back in the Netherlands.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the farmhouse during a long weekend in the Netherlands. It was centrally located and allowed us a chance to explore so much of the country. We visited Delft, Gouda, Keukenhof, Kinderdijk, and Oudewater (which was only a 5-minute drive from the house). Marga was very accommodating and hospitable. Our young children especially enjoyed seeing the cows roaming by the farmhouse and petting the newborn calves. Such a great experience in a rural setting surrounded by nature and beauty.
