Situated in Hancock, this lovely condo for $226 per night is a fantastic choice for your next vacation. The Portage Centre is spacious, perfect for entertaining & tastefully remodeled to pay tribute to the area’s rich ice hockey tradition. The Portage Centre is the foremost destination for adventure seekers, & large families as it sits at the gateway to the Keweenaw, & is located just steps from the famed Jack Stevens snowmobile trail and Portage Canal. The building has a long history as The General Glass Company, but the owners recently purchased the building to create the Portage Centre. The Portage Centre is a fully remodeled 3 bed/3 bath luxury home. The guest area consists of the entire 1750 sf main floor while the basement was retained by the owner for storage and is inaccessible to guests. While staying at The Portage Centre, guests do not share spaces or amenities with anyone else. The property is located along Hancock Street (US41) and is in the middle of everything. If you are a light sleeper there is a chance the traffic noise could wake you in the front bedroom. The Master bedroom is located in the rear of the building and traffic will not affect most sleepers. That said, we are in the middle of everything and you can walk to most everything in downtown Houghton and Hancock! A portion of all bookings will be donated to support local youth hockey.

Beautiful rental with outstanding accoutrements. Everything was clean, modern and up to date Thoughtful well appointed design. Plenty of room, kitchen stocked with gourmet cook in mind. Perfect parking and zero issues with host. Highly recommend with no hesitation. Would definitely rent again.

My husband and I stayed here while visiting our son at MTU. Our original plan was for 6 of us to stay and it was definitely roomy enough for 6 to stay comfortably. The owners did a fantastic job of repurposing a commercial building into a spacious, yet cozy, home away from home. It was spotlessly clean, comfortable, and close to everything Hancock/Houghton. This place is just as wonderful as it looks in the pictures. What you can't see in the pics is how well-stocked the kitchen is with pots, pans, cooking utensils, etc. We had everything we needed and more. My favorite feature was the peek-a-boo view of the canal. It was lovely, especially with the autumn colors and the clear skies at night. Overall, a great place to stay! We're looking forward to coming back.

This home is so beautiful on the inside, everything is modern and up to date. Very cozy, warm feeling, lots of parking, great neighborhood. Water is a block away. Hosts are a text away and just great to deal with. My family will be back

Overall we enjoyed this rental - it is very modern and spacious. We had 5 adults and our dog here for four nights. We made and ate most of our meals here since one of us has to be extremely careful to eat only gluten free foods and it was well equipped to prepare, cook and eat in. I recommend this to others.

Stayed with family at this lovely place. Hosts are nice as can be. Was great for my uncle, who has some mobility issues, plenty of space! Great kitchen and cute patio area.

We were moving our son into Michigan Tech and brought grandma along. This place was perfect for us. Our son could just pop back and forth from campus as needed. Everything is on one level, no stairs even at entry. This was great for grandma and anyone with mobility issues. Showers are walk-in and there are 3 full bathrooms which made it very convenient. Location is great! We walked to Millie’s…drove to Roy’s but you could walk across the bridge. Just down the hill is Porvoo park with a fantastic view of the Lift Bridge. This place is newly finished and very clean and modern. We will be staying again.

The house was immaculate and perfect for our long weekend dropping our son off at MTU. Don’t let the lack of central air deter you. The A/C units in each bedroom were more than adequate to give you a nice cool night of sleep.

Great place to accommodate our family helping our daughter move into her house at Michigan Tech. Plenty of room, clean and nicely decorated with fun hockey history. Will definitely rent again! Owners very nice and helpful.

We visited Hancock for the first time with our pets and son who is in a wheelchair. We knew we would have to ramp down the step in the entryway so brought a small ramp with us. The rest of the place was very accessible! Wide doors, huge bedrooms and beautiful, incredible comfortable open design. It is an urban location so set on a main road but there is a park right down the street and trail access to other parks. We traveled the region for leisure but wish we had a college student in the area as it is a perfect fit for a family coming in to visit! Incredibly accommodating, pet friendly and (almost) wheelchair accessible!
