Forest cabins with a sauna and wood-burning stove in a unique location, right on the river
Quiet Happiness—these are the two adjoining forest cabins (living quarters and sauna house) located right on the Nister River bend and along the Westerwaldsteig trail. Nestled in nature and surrounded by trees, all you can hear is the gentle lapping of the river—a place to unwind and relax. Every season here has its own special charm. After long hikes, we love to wind down the evening by the fireplace or in the sauna. The immediate proximity to the water invites you to take a dip in the river.
The Westerwaldsteig stretches over 235 km across 16 stages. Carved into the surrounding hills, it leads through the Holzbach Gorge, past the Westerwald Lake District, a marshland area with seven lakes. The historic town of Hachenburg is also lovely. Those who prefer cycling can enjoy the beauty of the Nister Valley on the Nister Bike Trail.
For everyone who appreciates seclusion and tranquility.

We stayed for three nights at Stilles Glück. The house was exactly like the pictures. Nicely decorated, next to a river, very quiet. That peace was what we were looking for. The sauna was awesome and the fire place was very cosy. Considering the cleaning costs the house was not very clean, sticky doors, smelly refrigerator and pillows on the couch don't seem to be washed ever. The beds were a little outdated; the bed frame and mattresses were sagged (and we have a normal posture) and the pillows and blankets felt dirty and old. The air in the bedrooms was musty, ventilation of the rooms was therefor necessary. Overall we had a nice stay.
