The area is surrounded by lovely cafes for coffee or a meal and lots of shopping and restaurants. Close to train which means you don’t need a car and it’s close to the Tiergarten Park. But best of all it’s a lovely feeling area with the Savignyplatz park next to hotel. Park is quite different. Anyway, we had a delightful stay in Berlin, and this hotel felt right for us. Rooms are large.
The hotel is quite old so lots of stairs, there is an elevator at the back of the building that is easy access but it goes between floors so there is still a bit of walking up stairs to do, carrying luggage.

The hotel is in a great location, close to various stations and bus stops, and was very easy to reach from the airport and to get around the city. It is also in an area full of cafés and restaurants, while being away from the main tourist areas, so there is plenty of choice for breakfast and meals, and the quality is generally very good. The room was extremely spacious, much bigger than I expected, both in terms of floor space and the impressively high ceiling. It was full of character and original features, which definitely added to the experience. Despite its size, panelling and amount of furniture, it was very clean and was thoroughly serviced every day. The bathroom is a little small and cramped, but this is understandable given that it has been added to an existing historic building. The water pressure was good and a good selection of toiletries was provided. Overall, I felt it offered good value considering the size of the room and the location. Luggage storage is also available, which was useful.
The friendliness of the staff could really be improved. From check-in through to asking questions during my stay, I never saw a smile and, on a couple of occasions, felt as though my questions were more of a nuisance than an opportunity to help. A warmer and more welcoming attitude would make a significant difference. Unfortunately, the bed was the main disappointment. The support was essentially a basic wooden box, and the mattress was quite worn and clearly in need of replacement. It had lost most of its firmness around the edges, to the point where you felt as though you might slide off whenever sitting near the side. Even as someone who normally sleeps quite easily, I found it took some effort to get comfortable. One point to consider for future travellers rather than a criticism: although there is a lift, there are quite a few stairs to climb from street level to reach reception and the lift. As is common in older buildings, the lift also stops between floors rather than directly at floor level, so there are another 10 or so steps to negotiate after getting out.

The location is great, everything is near the hotel. The room was cleaned everyday, some towels were a bit dirty, but were changed the next day.
WiFi hardly works apt doesn’t work at all. The room could have been cleaned better, a lot of dust everywhere, but it’s not a great problem.

It was a decent stay. If you want to see some real vintage furniture this place is perfect but on the other hand it doesnt offer more than a stay.
Cleaning can be a lot better.
