About this house rental
Our family owns the ferry service to Cumberland Island. The cottage pays tribute to the Ferrys that have taken passengers to the Island for the past 30 years. The Cumberland Queen was the first ferry. The current ferrys are The Cumberland Princess, The Cumberland Lady and the Cumberland Queen II. We have two original wheel house windows from the Cumberland Queen that were salvaged after it sank during hurricane Irma in 2017. You will have a two block walk to board the Cumberland Queen II on your visit to beautiful Cumberland Island. You will have views of the St. Marys River from your front porch and bedroom 2. The back patio overlooks the History Walking Park. Many restaurants and shops are within walking distance from the cottage. This townhome has recently been renovated with new appliances and furniture. Each bedroom has a full bath and smart TV. There is a half bath downstairs. Fully stocked kitchen with new appliances and washer and dryer. Dining room accommodates 4-6, also dining on the patio. Large smart TV in living room, free high speed internet. Seating on front porch with river views. Whether you are visiting to go to Cumberland Island or to enjoy our historic downtown, we welcome you to St. Marys, GA and The Cumberland Queen Cottage.

We enjoyed our stay in St Mary’s and at the cottage. Everything we needed was right at the property and the hosts even added some extra decorations to make our stay feel like Christmas. We had asked if the place had a grill and the hosts bought one for our use. The house was super clean, beds we’re comfortable and no shortage of towels, blankets and sheets. Everything we needed was right there and it made our stay feel very much like we were at home. The hosts even delivered firewood for the fireplace even though we never got to use it. I recommend anyone stay here and you will be within walking distance to the St Mary’s waterfront where there are restaurants and shops to explore. The hosts were very responsive and made our trip most enjoyable. We will definitely return for our next visit.

This property was wonderful to stay at. It was in a nice neighborhood but still close to downtown. It was nice that the host has things in the pantry that you may need but do not want to buy due to a short stay such as paper plates, napkins, extra foil and plastic baggies. There is plenty of living space. We enjoyed our stay and plan to return again.

Recommended listing by a friend and couldn’t have been more pleased. Sweet decor, wonderful location and excellent venue for our anniversary. Walking distance to all the quaintness DT St. Mary’s has to offer!

This cottage exceeds all expectations. It was clean and the hosts had provided everything you would need for a comfortable stay. It is conveniently located close to the Cumberland island ferry. The town of St Mary's is a lovely town with plenty of things to see and do.
I would highly recommend Cumberland Island Cottage.

We scheduled a quick trip to GA from NY to see our son who is stationed at Kings Bay. This was our first time not staying in a hotel. I’m so glad we found this cottage! It is in a wonderful location. The setting provided the opportunity to relax and visit with family and not feel penned. All amenities we could have ever needed were available. The cottage is bright, clean, and very comfortable! The property manager was readily available if I had any questions. I highly recommend this property and hope to have the opportunity to stay again when we visit St. Mary’s!

We visited st. Mary’s and Cumberland island for our anniversary weekend getaway. Cumberland island is well worth the visit and highly recommended. St. Mary’s is a very quaint little town. The townhome we stayed in is literally walking distance to every thing!! We only used our veh to go to Walmart for supplies. The downtown area is very nice. All the restaurants are locally owned and very good. Very comfortable causal attire and reasonably priced. There are a couple bar type locations but the town is very quiet and pretty much shuts down about 10 or so. The town home was very clean and welcoming. A lot of attention to detail and a lot of effort made to accommodate your stay. Abundance of towels and toiletries, as well as snacks and water are available. There’s a nice deck out back. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back!! I can see us planning our trip around available dates of this condo!
