Feel at home and relax. The Knapphof Guesthouse is located in a quiet and sunny spot in Reit im Winkl, in the Blindau district. Whatever you’d like to experience as a vacationer—whether in summer or winter—during a day out in our beautiful natural surroundings, you’ll find it right on our doorstep. Bavarian hospitality and a family-like atmosphere are our top priorities. In our cozy farmhouse parlor, warmed by a tiled stove, a breakfast buffet awaits you, featuring farm-fresh and regional products prepared with love. The lounge also features a kitchenette with a guest refrigerator. Enjoy sunny hours on our terrace or lawn. Cozy, well-appointed rooms with a shower/toilet, TV, hair dryer, and balcony await you. We’ve set up a small playground for families right next to the house. Ski lifts, cross-country trails, snow tubing, hiking trails, and bike paths are all nearby. Be sure to visit our alpine hut at the Winklmoos-Alm as well. You can rent it as a vacation home year-round. It sleeps 6 people and is a self-catering cabin.

Enjoy peace and quiet in our cozy, self-catering cabin, vacation home, or alpine hut right in the heart of the Winklmoosalm area. In winter, Reit im Winkl—Winklmoosalm is known for its excellent snow conditions; the lifts from the Winklmoosalm to the Steinplatte are just a 5-minute walk away. In summer, extensive hiking and biking trails invite you to explore the surrounding area. An ideal starting point for skiers, hikers, cyclists, and nature lovers. Our cabin features a bedroom with a double bed, two double beds in the dormitory-style sleeping area, a bathroom, a kitchen, and a living room with a wood-burning stove. Bed linens and towels can be booked upon request for a fee.

Reit im Winkl: A Climatic Health Resort According to Wikipedia, the designation “climatic health resort” is awarded to “locations whose air and climate, according to an expert assessment, possess qualities that are beneficial for relaxation and health.” Reit im Winkl was designated a health resort in 1956 and has consistently met the criteria for this designation ever since through its ongoing efforts. One key factor is its elevation, which ensures that summer heat is moderated and nights remain pleasantly cool. The town is surrounded by extensive mountain forests of the Chiemgau Alps and, in terms of its general climate, belongs to the “Bavarian Alps” climate region. The character of the weather is decisively determined by the local conditions—that is, by the influence of the mountain ranges and valleys on weather patterns. In addition to the natural conditions that ensure good air quality, we actively work to preserve the fresh mountain air through the use of natural heat and an extensive bus service.
