Welcome to our vacation rental—our second home in Steibis—your home away from home!
When we’re not renting it out, we—Daniela, Stephan, and the kids—use the apartment ourselves. And we really appreciate it! A “COOL hideaway” for active nature lovers! Whether hiking, golfing, sledding, climbing, skiing, swimming, or simply relaxing—in Oberstaufen-Steibis, you’ll find IT ALL!

The renovated 3-room apartment is located in the center of the mountain village of Steibis, on a private cul-de-sac, making it a very quiet spot with unobstructed views of the alpine pasture landscape surrounding Oberstaufen. Steibis is one of the most beautiful mountain villages in the Allgäu region. It’s charming year-round, as it’s nestled in a diverse mountain landscape that looks different in every season but remains equally fascinating.
The entire vacation apartment is furnished with high-quality furniture and features a bathroom with a shower, a separate toilet, a fully equipped kitchen, two bedrooms, and a large south-facing balcony with views of the Hochgrat.
From the vacation rental, it’s just a stone’s throw to the Steibing village market (supermarket), the Steibis mountain cheese dairy, restaurants, and everything you need for a wonderful vacation.
The “KUH’l” theme is very much alive here, and you’ll discover it throughout the renovated apartment.
You’ll enjoy our fully equipped kitchen, the covered south-facing balcony with views of the Hochgrat, and comfortable seating. On rainy days, books, games, puzzles, and even toys for toddlers are on hand to keep you entertained. Two bedrooms and a living/dining room offer maximum privacy.
- Bedroom 1 features a comfortable king-size/double bed (180x200) and ample storage space in the sliding-door closet.
- Bedroom 2 offers a bunk bed (90x200) as well as plenty of storage space in the closet and on shelves.
- The living/dining room, the heart of our cozy home, is furnished with a very large corner couch and provides access to the south-facing balcony. A wide range of entertainment options is available to you. The Panasonic Smart TV with a Bose soundbar, for example, offers a fantastic home theater experience. Plus, our Alexa is here to assist you! The cozy dining table with “buffalo” chairs seats four people.
- The new kitchen has everything you need. You’ll find a stove with a double ceramic cooktop, an exhaust hood, a microwave with baking function, a filter coffee maker and a Tassimo capsule machine, a kettle, a soda maker, and many other appliances, as well as a large selection of cooking utensils.
- The renovated bathroom features a sink with a vanity cabinet and a shower—the toilet is separate.
All rooms are very bright and can be individually heated.
A free underground parking space, Wi-Fi, and a ski and bike storage room are available during your stay.
The apartment is equipped with smart thermostats, a smart TV, and an Alexa device.

In addition to our own services, the Oberstaufen PLUS guest card gives you access to many free recreational activities—making your Allgäu vacation a completely worry-free package. You can easily access Oberstaufen Plus services via the Allgäu-Walser app. A chip card is still required only for skiing. We’ll provide you with one before you hit the slopes.

Tourist tax:
The municipality of Oberstaufen charges every vacation guest a tourist tax (Allgäu-Walser Pass). Payment is made separately and is not included in the rental price. We forward the tourist tax amount directly to the municipality of Oberstaufen. You will receive payment terms and a link to online check-in via email before your arrival. Guest passes will be provided to you digitally (now available at 12.11.2024) ). These serve as proof of payment of the tourist tax.
The following age-based rules for calculating the tourist tax will apply starting December 1, 2025:
- €3.50 per day for adults (ages 16 and older)
- €1.75 per day for youth (ages 6 to 16)
- Children are exempt (persons under 6 years of age)
For persons with a disability rating of 70 or higher and appropriate proof, the visitor’s tax is reduced by 25%. Persons with a disability rating of 80 or higher and appropriate proof are exempt from the tax. Companions who have the “B” designation entered on their severe disability ID card are exempt from the tax. Please understand that we can only accommodate these circumstances if they are reported in advance, as we must apply for a reduction or exemption from the tourist tax on your behalf.
