Good Value for Money, Better than the costly ones I tried in Glasgow and Edinburgh.
The cleanliness in the flat was at its Top.
Everything was perfect, cant spot a single issue.
Good speed wifi, TV in all rooms, Dehumidifier.
Clean and washed Bedsheets, towels etc.
The shared garden was the best thing. We spent our evenings in the garden.

A mixed bag
Good location by the river opposite the Johnsons of Elgin factory shop. You're a two minute walk to a big supermarket and the bus station with routes to Edinburgh and various other Borders towns. The flat has a TV where you can login into your own Netflix etc. Kitchen and bedrooms are fine.
Hawick is on the Borders Abbey Way and there are a lot of walks of varying length which start in the town. Hawick is a bit neglected compared to Melrose and Peebles but has some lovely cafes, very friendly people and a great wee community centre showing films. There's a great pay as you go gym off the high street too.
This flat really needs a clean- there were handprints and marks on almost every wall and the shower is mouldy. I think this is one of many apartments managed by a company so don't expect personal service- it's a key box on the wall and limited communication. The front door of the building is always left open and the door to the apartment has one quite flimsy lock only- we asked for this to be changed (by making the flat's main door lock functional again) but the company heard nothing from the homeowner, so we heard nothing from them. This left us feeling very anxious about our stuff while we were out.
Please leave the hall light on for the old folks who live above and have to feel their way up and down the pitch black stairs otherwise.

An apartment with potential, with the right managing agent!
A comfortable apartment, but could be better.
The managing agent was not very responsive, and we got the entry instructions during a period when we knew we would not be reachable.
The apartment is in a residential block, and is accessed via a bare, cold, pitch dark concrete passageway with unlit stairs. If you’re lucky, some of the residents leave their motion sensor lights on. We were not lucky, and literally had to feel our way in.
The welcome pack is a bag of cleaning materials to allow you to leave the apartment in a cleaner state than you find it. It includes 2 dishwasher tablets. The “well equipped” kitchen had no dishwasher. The kitchen is style over usability. The oven door hits the washing machine, and the corner wall unit is like a chinese puzzle.
Glasses were greasy, and when I put my hand on the cooker hood to see if it got hot, my hand stuck to the dust and grease that was on it. I gave it a good clean, so if you arrived on or after 21st Sep 2025, the clean cooker hood and glasses was me. You’re welcome!
There was enough of everything for the number of guests they allow. Without a dishwasher, our break felt like a constant round of manually washing up.
The residents in the block seem a bit jaded by having an endless stream of non residents. The resident in number 1 seemed concerned about the front door being open while we moved our luggage in. And the resident in number 5 blamed us for deadlocking the door at night and leaving him trapped on the street. The latter also had an opinion about where and when we should place our rubbish in the bin, as well as many other matters.
I felt sorry for the residents who clearly have their home lives upset by newcomers every week.
