Dirty, dark, and depressing
Good location with free on-street parking. Within walking distance of town centre attractions.
When we arrived, we were shocked. The apartment was dirty, dark and unpleasant.
The kitchen was worst. Kitchen drawers, cupboards, cutlery, etc were disgusting. Dirty brown dribbles on the kitchen cupboard doors and drawer surrounds. The tea towels, that had been left folded, were dirty. Cutlery crusted with old food. There were crumbs & hair among the cutlery in the drawer. The microwave had a bad smell. Under the kitchen sink, there was a washing-up basin half-full of dirty liquid.
When the hall light was switched on, it made an extremely loud rattling noise. When the hall light was switched off, the hall was almost pitch dark. We had to use our phone torches in the hall.
In the bathroom, the white bathroom door was smeared with something brown (looked like either dried blood or faeces).
Because the kitchen was so revolting, we did not cook in the apartment at all. Instead, we ate out every day, which we had not budgeted for.
We notified the agents MyStayInn about the problems. They took two days to send someone round. The person came round while we were out. When we got back to the property, we found the kitchen drawers, cupboards, cutlery and tea towels in exactly the same dirty state as before. She had wiped off the brown smear on the bathroom door, and wiped the washing machine drawer, but apparently done nothing about the rest.
When I tried to phone the letting agents, they didn't answer the phone. I messaged them several times to try to get the problems resolved - they just fobbed me off repeatedly.
It was only a three night stay, but I had to spend time trying to message and phone the letting agents, and send them photos of the dirty areas, then try to chase them up to find out when they would send someone to sort the problems. Then I had to message them after the 'cleaner' had attended but still not cleaned. It was frustrating and time-consuming. It became clear that the letting agents were not going to sort the issues.

I did not know that each room locked separately, I thought it was a traditional flat. I did not like the small shower stalls nor the fact they had no kitchen table.

Location
The property had Beds for 9 people to sleep in, they were ok. But the property didn't have a table and chairs to sit in to eat your meal. They had a desk chair in each room which you had to go to your room and eat. It did not have a room for gathering together. It felt more like a hostel not a four bedroom apartment for a family. The kitchen was good but small, with out a table you had to stand to eat.

The facilities were clean and the communication with the rental property owners/business was great. They sent a very detailed check-in procedure book and answered my questions promptly.
I assumed that when I rented a 4 bedroom apartment it would have a living room and kitchen table, at least some space for families to hang out, sit down together. It did not say it had those but it did not say it did NOT have those either. That is important information when you are staying together with extended family for a graduation and you want time together. It mentioned ‘family rooms’ and a kitchen so you could have time together but you really got 4 separate bedrooms and a shared kitchen with no place at all to sit down, much more like a hostel. We stayed two nights and made it work but we were not pleased with the set up.
