Our vacation farm with two vacation apartments is situated in an extremely quiet location in the middle of the open marshlands on the outskirts of the North Sea spa town of Esens-Bensersiel in the “Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park.” Here you’ll find an oasis of peace and relaxation for a truly wonderful vacation!
The fully operational farm is located very close to the gently lapping Benser Tief (What is a “Tief”? Want to know more? Click here on this sentence!). A paved farm road runs alongside the farm—a very popular bike path—along which you can easily reach Bensersiel by bike or on a pleasant walk. The walk takes about a quarter of an hour.
The North Sea spa town of Bensersiel itself is located directly on the unique natural wonder that is the “Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park,” a “UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site” since 2009.
The friendly, comfortable, fully equipped vacation apartments—each approximately 50 square meters in size—are ideal for up to 4 people.
Our fully operational farm is home to about 80 dairy cows and 30 to 40 bulls at all times. If you’d like, you and your children can experience everyday farm life.
For example, the house has a beautiful, very large garden where you can relax on a spacious, sheltered terrace and enjoy the magnificent view of the meadows and fields—the vast expanse of East Frisia—in peace and quiet. The garden also features a lawn for sunbathing, a small playground, and a barbecue area; your children are truly welcome here! We have a dog—his name is Tommy—and we have many cats and two rabbits to pet, as well as a few goats, which are always fun to watch!
Our beautiful marsh farm is located “in the middle of nowhere” between the old knight’s town of Esens and the North Sea spa town of Bensersiel. On the other hand, it’s really just a short distance away, and you’ll find yourself right in the heart of the North Sea spa town of Bensersiel, with its beach and all the other tourist attractions it has to offer.
In one direction, you can walk or bike through the idyllic marshlands to Bensersiel. This way, you’ll reach the beach at a leisurely pace and feeling refreshed. Or you can start your bike ride or hike from here into the East Frisian countryside, or via Bensersiel and then along the dike to Ostbense and the North Sea spa town of Neuharlingersiel.
Of course, you can also drive to Bensersiel in just a few minutes—and, best of all, completely away from regular traffic— but by bike, you’ll reach the sea and Bensersiel after about 2 kilometers in complete peace and quiet, having already breathed in plenty of healthy sea air, and you’ll be able to especially enjoy the beach and the many tourist, spa, and vacation facilities.
The North Sea spa town of Esens-Bensersiel has a lot to offer in terms of relaxation, sports, and recreation—for example, beaches with playgrounds and beach chairs, swimming pools, tennis courts, surfing spots along the dike, fitness programs, beach volleyball, fishing spots, and much more.
Soak up the sun or explore the beautiful surroundings and the vast expanse of East Frisia by bike. In Bensersiel, visit the “Sonneninsel” North Sea Thermal Baths, a modern, heated water park and leisure facility. All spa facilities, as well as a modern wellness, sauna, and fitness center, are also located there. Or head to the beach, where you’ll find the new beach complex featuring “Bennis Abenteuerland”—a covered beach area for children—as well as a maritime sports theme park with a circus tent and a seawater outdoor pool with a giant water slide. Go for a hike along the dike or in the Wadden Sea.
In the other direction, it takes about 10 minutes by bike to reach downtown Esens, with all the amenities you’ll find there.
We’d be happy to tell you about all the interesting places to visit in our cozy and charming “Bear Town” of Esens—a town over 475 years old with a historic town center—and, of course, the “highlights” of the North Sea spa town of Bensersiel. For example, we also have plenty of events—both large and small—and museums. Or you can simply enjoy some true peace and quiet right here in and around our house.
Our location is ideal for long walks, bike rides, and explorations of East Frisia’s unique natural landscape. This way, you can enjoy an active yet relaxing vacation by the North Sea and make the most of the North Sea’s invigorating climate.
Take day trips to the East Frisian Islands and visit numerous old mills, museums, exhibitions, and other cultural highlights. Or take your children to Werdum to visit the petting zoo, home to many small animals from all over the world. Or take a trip to Neuharlingersiel. There, among the other attractions of this North Sea spa town, you’ll find the historic fishing harbor with its active fleet of crab boats and “Platschi,” the fantastic water play area right in the middle of the beach.
