The location was in the heart of downtown LaSpezia. It was close to everything - shopping, restaurants, the pier and not so far from the train station. Since the street was closed to traffic, taxis were a bit more difficult to find, but easy to call for. The apartment was immaculate. The owner, while not on the property, was very accessible and answered any questions or concerns immediately.
Because I have back problems, and my husband an I are in our 80's, the wide stairway access was still a bit cumbersome with suiitcases. Also, in order to leave the apartment, one had to take the control that serviced the electricity. If someone stayed in the apartment while others left, they didn't have electricity. The apartment was very clean and simply furnished, but not too exciting in terms of decor. A splash of color in paintings and bedding is always nice. But I live in Mexico, so am used to the vibrancy of the local colors. Finally, while restaurants were plentiful, the general fare was Pizza and Pasta - not like the memorable Italian food from the past.

W visited La Spezia for 2 nights and had the good fortune to stay at Matteo's apartment Cinque Terre Casa Gina La Spezia'. It is a very spacious, airy, 2-bedroomed apartment in an excellent location close to the sea front, shops, restaurants and Central Station. We were delighted with everything as the apartment exceeded our expectations. It was exceptionally clean, the beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well-equipped. We would highly recommend this apartment and I wish we could have stayed longer. Many thanks Matteo for a lovely stay.

Excellent communication with the host. He let us drop our bags very early. The apartment was spotlessly clean. We had our 18 month old son with us and felt very safe. Brand new cot in the room for him as-well.
