The apartment is located in Brand, in the Öhlbühl district, close to the border with Upper Franconia and thus at the foot of the Fichtel Mountains. The expansive surrounding area offers countless recreational opportunities. In the summer, you can go hiking, take a bike ride, swim in Lake Nagler, or simply enjoy nature on the Ochsenkopf or along the Fichtelnaab River. Further afield, you’ll also find Franconian Switzerland, home to the Pottenstein stalactite cave, a natural water park, and a summer toboggan run. The Luisenburg in Wunsiedel—where open-air theater performances are held, right next to a rock labyrinth—is also not far away. Culinary delights include numerous Franconian-Bavarian specialties served in the many local taverns—often featuring attached beer gardens. In winter, you can go cross-country skiing here on many well-groomed trails. Alpine skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts are also well catered for, with several ski lifts and slopes, including those in Mehlmeisel. There’s also a small zoo there featuring native animal species. Snow is virtually guaranteed thanks to the town’s location in the low mountain range, but even when snow is scarce, there’s never a dull moment. The “Wagner City” of Bayreuth is within easy reach for a day trip. There, you can visit the Hermitage, the festival theater honoring Richard Wagner, or stroll through the beautiful old town. You can also reach Nuremberg by car or train in just over an hour. There, you’ll have access to air travel as well as bus and train connections throughout Europe. During the Christmas season, the world-famous Christmas market draws visitors there. Shops for daily necessities—such as supermarkets, pharmacies, doctors’ offices, ATMs, bakeries, and butcher shops—are either located right in Brand or within a 10-minute drive. The nearest train station is in Neusorg, just a few minutes away by car. If you’re traveling without a car, you can easily arrange your transfer via an on-demand taxi bus at very reasonable prices. The fully renovated two-room apartment on the first floor is spacious, quiet, and bright. Straight ahead from the entrance is the living room with a TV, Wi-Fi, and an open-concept kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with all necessary appliances, including a dishwasher. The living room also opens onto the south-facing balcony, where you can enjoy sunny afternoons. Behind the living room is the bedroom with a new, 1.80-meter-wide box-spring bed. The newly renovated bathroom, located next to the entrance in the hallway, features a toilet and shower. There is also a coin-operated laundry machine available in the neighboring building, which you are welcome to use. A newly opened supermarket is within walking distance. Payment is due in advance via bank transfer. A 50% deposit is due upon booking. The remaining balance must be transferred 7 days before arrival. Check-in is available from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Check-out is by 10:00 AM. Keys will be handed over in person on site. Pets are allowed upon request (10 per night/pet). A crib can be provided upon request (free of charge). A security deposit of 150 is required on-site. A washing machine is available in the adjacent building for a fee. Parking, Wi-Fi, final cleaning, and linens are included.
