The apartment was clean, presentable, nicely decorated with a fully functional kitchen. It was located at the highest point in Banner Elk and had a wonderful view. Although it was an apartment we could not hear our neighbors which was good. Everyone we encountered was helpful.
Everything was exactly as pictured, however, I ended up contacting the agent for WIFI access instructions. She sent them and said there should have have been placards around but the writing on them was hard to decipher so I'm glad I emailed her. We were very dissatisfied with the TV because although there were two remotes, there were no instructions on how to operate the remote for cable TV so we could not get any cable channels. We were forced to watch LG live channels only, which did not have live sports channels. My husband was not happy about that! Also, the height of both beds was extremely high. I'm 5ft 3in and the top of the mattress was at my waist and it was hard for me to get into the bed. The 1st night my husband pulled me into the bed. The next night I saw the bed frame ledge (about 2 inches wide) & I stepped on it to leverage high enough to get my knee on the mattress and pull myself in. Going to the bathroom in the middle of the night required carefully sliding to the floor in the dark and again using the skinny bedframe ledge as a step to get back in the bed. Lastly, we noticed a safety hazard with the fireplace hearth. The rock is about 1 1/2 inches high & sticks out about a foot from the fireplace making it a tripping hazard because It's in the main walking area near the sofa. It should be clearly marked so that it is more noticeable & a bumper guard should be put around it so that you don't trip or strike your foot as you walk by. Breaking a toe or falling and breaking a hip would totally ruin a vacation. We're both 72 and like to travel but we also want to be safe.

Closeness to town. The staff were friendly and helpful!!!!
The one bed was crazy. It had a welt in the middle almost like a barrier and the one side was sunken.
