About this house rental
You’ll find an authentic and welcoming place, untouched by the negative aspects of mass tourism. We chose the name “La Contentëssa” for our farmhouse: in the Piedmontese dialect, it means genuine joy, happiness, and carefree living.
We hope you’ll find this joy during your stay!
We’ll help you plan your vacation by sharing our knowledge of a region just waiting to be discovered, and, if you’d like, we’ll suggest traditional experiences such as seasonal truffle hunting, Piedmontese cooking classes for all ages, hiking, bike tours, horseback riding, and donkey rides...
Our farmhouse, built in the traditional local style, has been tastefully renovated.
It consists of 2 units accommodating a total of 7 guests, with independent heating, a safe, and free Wi-Fi: the “Margherita” unit can accommodate 4 people; it features a double bedroom, a living room with a kitchen and a two-person sofa bed, a spacious bathroom, and a small balcony from which to admire sunsets and the stars at night; the “Fiordaliso” unit features a warm wooden ceiling and can accommodate 3 people; it has a double bedroom, a living room with a kitchen and a single sofa bed, a bathroom, and a very picturesque view of the church’s bell tower.
Upon request, we can provide a crib for very young children.
Outside, with your family and friends, you can enjoy a garden with a relaxation area equipped with lounge chairs near the rose garden, a barbecue area, and tables and chairs for your outdoor meals, and a round, 1-meter-deep above-ground pool for children and teens. For leisure time, there’s a foosball table, a ping-pong table, and children’s games.
A WONDERFUL NEW OUTDOOR AREA IS IN THE WORKS FOR SPRING–SUMMER 2025!!!
The farmhouse is situated in a commanding position in the center of Castiglione d’Asti, an important hamlet of the county seat, close to the majestic church and the recreational and sports facilities used throughout the year for events and gatherings. The village offers pleasant views and opportunities for excursions on foot or by e-bike.
You’ll find yourself in a strategic location for visiting Monferrato, the Langhe, and the Roero—a region recognized worldwide for its architectural and scenic beauty (a UNESCO World Heritage Site).
Asti, historically known as the “City of a Hundred Towers,” is located 4 kilometers from the house: as the home of DOCG Spumante, it stands out as a center of excellence in the Italian wine scene, with Barbera, Dolcetto, Grignolino, Freisa, Moscato, and Malvasia di Casorzo. We recommend visiting Asti especially in September for the Palio, a festival with medieval origins, and the Festival delle Sagre, which brings rural life to the city’s streets and offers culinary experiences in the squares, along with a historical reenactment unique in Italy.
