About this house rental
The large and impressive ground-floor apartment Zollhaus 1 at Gurtstig 52 in Keitum offers 111 m² of space, enough for up to six people. From the entryway, you pass through a cozy living room—featuring a spacious bookshelf and direct access to the garden—to reach the large kitchen. It is the heart of the Zollhaus. Numerous windows bathe the room in a warm, inviting light. The built-in country-style kitchen, the expansive dining table with a matching corner bench, sophisticated black-and-white photographs, and the light color scheme create a cozy atmosphere. In total, there are three spacious and charming bedrooms and two well-appointed, bright bathrooms. The apartment features a spacious terrace with sunny spots around the large garden table or in one of the teak seating areas, a fully equipped kitchen, TV, Wi-Fi, a stereo system, and an iPod docking station, as well as a parking space on the property. Back when the area was still under Danish rule, the Royal Customs House and a small stable building were constructed in the heart of Keitum. The house served as a customs office until 1902, when the customs office was relocated to Westerland. In the mid-1990s, both buildings were lovingly restored in collaboration with historic preservation experts. A complete renovation followed in 2012; the true luxury of this home lies in the opportunity to live in a spacious, modern setting amidst Keitum’s historic backdrop.
