DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! Apartment reeks with chemicals and perfumes and the owner stole our money!!!!

Didnt get a chance to like anything

Our experience here was HORRIBLE and the owner is an absolute greedy jerk of a man. DO NOT STAY HERE. First of all, finding the place was hard, but we finally did and met the housekeeper outside. The first thing she told us is that the front gate to get in the property had a broken lock and that we had to go the long way from behind to get it, That would have been hard with all of our luggage. But thankfully we never ended up having to do that. When we walked in the apartment were were hit with this terrible smell of a mix of cleaning chemicals and strong perfume sticks that were awful. Within 5 minutes, my wife's eyes were tearing and res, and my asthma flared up and it became hard to breathe. We explained the situation to the maid and I told her if I stayed, I would end up in the hospital due to asthma (its not even a thing for most of my life, only when in bad environments like this), and she understood and let the owner know that we would not be staying. This was a full 24 hours before our booking for a week because we were going to stay an extra day because on paper it looked so good. The location is great, but the area looks rather run down while other parts of Manta Rota are really nice. Anyways, the owner completely refused to give us our money back. I filed a complaint with booking com and they said there is nothing they can do because it said no refunds even though they felt bad, blah, blah and advised me to contact my credit card company in the US to get chargeback. After asking the owner several more times and him just saying that people love his smelly apartment, and that he would not refund due to our choice to leave, I went ahead and filed a complaint with Chase and thankfully they froze the charges. In all of our years of travel, this is BY FAR the worst experience we have ever had. People like this should be banned from renting to others. It is clear that all he cares about is money - and its just in incredible that he steals peoples money.

A casa é ótima, bem situada onde se consegue ir a pé até á praia, tem dois bons quartos e uma sala muito agradável, a cozinha tem todas as comodidades necessárias e ainda tem um pátio exterior onde se podem tomar refeições. Fica perto de supermercados e restaurantes. Tem ar condicionado o que é muito agradável quando está calor. A simpatia e disponibilidade do anfitrião.

A casa é ótima, bem situada onde se consegue ir a pé até á praia, tem dois bons quartos e uma sala muito agradável, a cozinha tem todas as comodidades necessárias e ainda tem um pátio exterior onde se podem tomar refeições. Fica perto de supermercados e restaurantes. Tem ar condicionado o que é muito agradável quando está calor. A simpatia e disponibilidade do anfitrião.
