I just spent three nights at The Veranda, and I am leaving with a heart full of gratitude. More than just a place to sleep, this guest house felt like a true home away from home. Traveling solo can sometimes feel a bit daunting, but the hosts here are so deeply kind, attentive, and hospitable that I felt completely safe and cared for from the moment I arrived.
They greeted me with a beautiful fruit platter, shared wonderful ideas for exploring their city, and were always warmly responsive no matter the time of day. I feel genuinely blessed to have met them and to have experienced their level of care. They even pointed me to a phenomenal local restaurant right in the neighborhood, which is centrally located and safe, yet perfectly peaceful and quiet.
The private apartment itself is immaculate and comfortable. After taking the elevator and walking up a short flight of stairs to my private entrance, I found a beautiful, smoke-free, air-conditioned space with hardwood floors. They’ve thoughtfully provided everything you could need, from a queen-sized bed, comfy sofa bed, mini-fridge, and electric kettle to a bathroom well-stocked with towels, slippers, a hairdryer, and a bidet.
My favorite part of the physical space was the outdoors. The patio, balcony, and sun deck offer an incredible place to eat outside while taking in gorgeous views of the city, mountains, lake, and local landmarks. (And for those who need it, the Wi-Fi is exceptionally reliable, easily pulling 80 to 90 Mbps down).
If you have the opportunity to stay here, take it. I cannot wait to come back.

Being in the heart of Shkodra while feeling right at home—it is the most strategic location for viewing the river, the castle, the pedestrian zone, the mountains, the Marubi Museum, and the lake; it offers the chance to visit these places up close in record time. The hospitality, cleanliness, fresh flowers, and handcrafted woodwork in the room create a relaxing oasis of their own.

Spacious room, private rooftop, beautiful bathroom! Great location to discover Schköder, the hosts were super friendly and communicative. I asked if we could leave our car in their parking for 5 nights when we left to the mountains, and just for a small extra this was fine. Would 100% recommend!
