Marie is the BEST!! She helped answer questions months before we checked in. Once we checked in we had a few problems not related to her in the least that she assisted us with without question. My wife and I found her to be extremely helpful. You really couldn't ask for or design a better host. The location of the cottage is superb. Just a very short walk to the plage (beach). One street over hosts a boulangerie – an absolute MUST in my opinion. A BNP Paribas bank with an ATM that allows cash withdrawals with no conversion – our bank gives us the best conversion rate. Several restaurants/cafes that are very good. An excellent green grocers. An amazingly well-stocked hardware store. Women’s boutique shops. And, less than a 10 minute walk takes you to a grocery store and pharmacy. On Tuesdays and Thursdays there is a local market that pops up. Pretty much everything you need/want is very close by. Oh, and a few short blocks away is an SCNF train station that runs along the Riviera way beyond the distance we wanted or needed to travel.Marie has provided all the little things you want/need and these have been well covered in other reviews. We were missing nothing we wanted/needed. The renovation is extremely well done and usable space is maximized. The A/C was a life saver since we were here during a historic heat wave.

We have stayed in many great vrbo’s but this was BY FAR the best. Marie is the nicest most thoughtful host. She lives next door in case of issues but gives you total privacy. EVERYTHING in her home is high end, from the appliances, kitchen ware, mattresses, bath and shower, etc. She has thoughtfully provided everything you could possibly need and then some, even beach chairs and towels, coffee, homemade jam, ice pops, a parking spot (seriously? On the French Riviera) and I could go on. Trust me, she has thought of everything. She has decorated with all these artistic details throughout that make it feel very special. The air conditioning works great, and there’s a separate remote for upstairs. We were there during the heat wave so it got a real test. There’s even a skylight over the bed, and a lovely screened porch. AND it’s on a quiet little alley a block from a very cute town with great restaurants and boulangeries. AND a block from a great pebble beach so bring water shoes. I could have lived there for much longer. Grab this one if you can get it…it deserves 20 stars. And I never met Marie before so this is an unbiased review! One more thing….calling it a fisherman’s cottage doesn’t do it justice! It’s pure heaven!

We were greeted by Marie and were made to feel right at home. The property has been wonderfully renovated and has been carefully decorated with her artistic flair. Marie provides lots of little extras - beach towels, shopping cart etc that go a long way to making the stay a true delight. I would be more than happy to recommend this bnb and would definitely stay here again if in the area.

My daughter and I had a fabulous stay at Atypical fisherman's house. Marie is a wonderful hostess and the location to the beach, grocery store, restaurants, and shopping is only a block away. The town of Cagnes Sur Mer is adorable and has the perfect "small village in the French Riveria" feel we were looking for. We mostly used Uber to get to Nice and Eze, but the train is within a walkable distance and the airport is close by. The house is super clean and organized. Marie has everything you could possibly need. We would definitely return and can't wait to plan our next trip!
