Ski Shuttle, Hot Tub, Wood Fireplace | 1820 House

Top rated by guests
The exterior shows why the house works for groups: farmhouse character, yard space, parking, and the mountain road location.
The fireplace room is the winter anchor of the house: start the fire, and let the night slow down.
Sink into a tartan wingback as a fire crackles in the brick hearth and red tapers glow under the mountain landscape on the green-paneled mantel. The second living room becomes a fireside reading corner on cool Stowe evenings.
End-of-ski reset in the alcove tub, towels on the wrought-iron stand and Public Goods soap, shampoo, and conditioner stocked at the vanity.
Morning ritual at the framed mirror, three hooks ready with towels, hair dryer and Public Goods body soap, shampoo, and conditioner waiting below.

About this house rental

Summary:

"A rustic Vermont getaway that's the perfect distance between town and the mountain." Guests say about our restored farmhouse in Stowe, steps from the free Mountain Shuttle, minutes from Stowe Mountain Resort. After a day on the slopes, soak in the hot tub or settle by the wood-burning fireplace. Just beyond the front yard, take a scenic stroll down the Rec Path, paved and open year-round. Sleeps 10: king, three queens, two twins. EV charger on-site, Stowe Village 5 minutes away.

The Space:

Steps from the free Mountain Shuttle and minutes from Stowe Mountain Resort, our restored farmhouse has welcomed over 100 stays into a home reviewers call charming, spacious, and bigger than the pictures. The wood-burning fireplace anchors the Green Room, the hot tub sits out back under Vermont stars, and three separate living rooms give a group room to spread out.

The two-story farmhouse holds four bedrooms, sleeping ten. The king sits at its own quiet end. A second bedroom holds a queen. A third is built for families - a queen plus two twins fits four. The fourth is a flex bedroom with a queen, sofa, and workspace, suited as a guest room or a quiet office.

The house is 205 years old. Wide-plank wood floors and original woodwork have been preserved alongside modern upgrades - a fully equipped kitchen, a smart TV with Sonos speakers, and a private hot tub on the back patio. The wood-burning fireplace is where guests gather after skiing, firewood stacked in the barn. The hot tub handles the rest, set up year-round for the post-slopes soak under the stars.

We booked The 1820 House last minute for a night and couldn't have picked a better place. The location on Mountain Road is unbeatable -- the shuttle stop is literally steps away. After a full day on the mountain we came back and jumped in the hot tub, then warmed up by the wood-burning fireplace. Matt was super responsive and made everything easy. The house had so much space and charm -- we only used a fraction of it as a couple but it would be incredible for a bigger group or family trip. Already talking about coming back with friends next winter or for a summer stay. Thanks again!

This house was perfect for a ski trip. The property had plenty of room for the six of us. The hot tub is a very nice addition. The house is right next to a shuttle stop- no driving required once we arrived. Thank you for everything!

A beautiful Vermont farmhouse in a perfect location. Large enough for my family of 8 to be comfortable and enjoy family time after a day on the slopes. We loved having the fireplace. The owners provided wood so we could have a crackling fire and another great feature was the shuttle just a few steps from the door. It was so convenient to get to the slopes. The owners were attentive and check in and out was a smooth process. Next time we take a trip to Stowe we will be staying at the 1820s house.
