About this house rental
This large, historic former farmhouse, situated in a peaceful location, was built in the late 18th century and is just 4 km from Montefiascone. Its strategic location on a headland offers you a magnificent panoramic view of the surrounding green hills, the cathedral and Viterbo. The furnishings, comprising partly antique and original pieces, make the property a splendid country residence. Spacious outdoor areas and the swimming pool, complete with Roman steps, a diving board and a shower, invite you to enjoy pleasant and relaxing moments together. Nearby walking trails also promise relaxation: whilst hiking or cycling, you can enjoy being at one with nature!
Your holiday home is spread over several floors, each with a covered terrace. Next to the kitchen, there is also a terrace with a wood-burning stove and barbecue (3 m), where you can prepare delicious meals and enjoy them al fresco, accompanied by an excellent Est white wine! Est!! Est!!!, which is typical of the area. In fact, Montefiascone hosts a wine fair in August and a beer fair in July.
The house’s location is ideal for excursions to the ancient villages and towns of the three neighbouring regions – Lazio, Umbria and Tuscany – and for discovering the scenic beauty of the surrounding area. Suggested excursions: Just 10 km away is Viterbo, with its beautiful medieval old town and thermal baths – ideal for treating yourself to a relaxing day; Civita di Bagnoregio (the ‘dying town’) and Bagnaia (Villa Lante) are 18 kilometres away. In Orvieto (30 km), you can admire a magnificent Gothic cathedral. The Tyrrhenian Sea and Tuscany are 40 km away, whilst the fascinating Eternal City of Rome is 80 km away.
It is possible to organise visits with tastings at a local dairy that produces products made from buffalo milk.
