Unsafe, unclean and badly managed – we had to leave and book another property at our own cost
I had a very disappointing and stressful experience with this property. We arrived late at around 11pm after a long journey, travelling with my 2-year-old daughter and elderly parents (80 and 65 years old), only to find the house in a completely unacceptable condition.
The property was clearly not cleaned. There were piles of dirty bedding and towels left around the house, the general hygiene was poor, there was mold in the doors and parts of the property appeared damaged and poorly maintained. It was not suitable or safe for a family to stay in, especially with a young child and elderly people.
I immediately contacted the property organisers, but no proper help was provided that night. We were left with no choice but to stay in those conditions for the night, which was extremely uncomfortable and distressing. This also cause deterioration of my 2 years old respiratory system as she was struggling with her breathing.
The next day, a cleaner arrived but did not properly clean or resolve the issues. At that point, we had no confidence in staying there any longer and had to book another property at our own expense, which cost us an additional £800.
This experience was unacceptable on every level:
• Poor cleanliness and hygiene
• Lack of basic preparation before guest arrival
• No proper support or resolution from the host
• Additional financial loss due to their failure
Presence of high levels of mold that represent serious health risks to the 2 year old baby and my parents
I would strongly advise others to avoid this property. This was not just inconvenient – it was a serious failure in providing even the most basic standard of accommodation.
