Stay away!
Nothing! Total scam!
First of all the check in person was very unprofessional. It was advertised as being 160sqm. We booked for 5 people but it was only set up for 4, with a table 1 meter across, definitely not enough space to have 5 people eating around it. The space was much smaller than advertised. When we voiced our concern all they told us was to talk to booking, which we did. They sent us to Holidu, then it was an endless back and forth with phone calls, where I would just be ignored or hung up on. After 3,5 hours of this and the rest of the family sitting in the car and waiting, we booked another place. Then began an endless back and forth with emails. The owner didn’t want to give us a refund, we were even willing to meet him half way. After that we requested the keys, (which was still our right, since we payed for the place), which we had to wait another several hours for someone to come to bring them to us. We hired a professional topographic team to measure up the property. The result, including the outside spaces was 127sqm and not 160 as advertised. After seeing the pro report they modified their booking.com ad to 120sqm, without acknowledging our request for a full refund. Just acting like nothing was ever wrong! We proceeded to write a complaint in the Livro do Reclamaçoes, (The Red book,
every business in Portugal has it) which got sent off to the appropriate authorities in Lisbon, the CC company , Booking.com and Holidu. With the pictures of the ad before and after modification and the topographic report. Document everything and take pictures of everything, one never knows when you might need it!
Even after presenting the official measurements, there has been no acknowledging of anything wrong from anyone involved, but they did change the ad to reflect the new measurements. Very sneaky and Very unprofessional!
