NIGHTMARE STAY. BEWARE. STAY AWAY
BEWARE!!!!
I wish there was something to like about this stay. Actually checking out was the best thing
The house wasn’t the one I booked. I contacted the host asking him to check in earlier but he said the house needed to be cleaned and he didn’t want me to check in in a dirty house so I waited till 3pm in a park nearby the property. At around 4pm I contacted the host again and he said he didn’t know if the house was clean so he told me to go to another property. I got my 3 suitcases and walked all the way back to where I was before and once I get in the building I see I had to walk 3 floors with those suitcases.
Once I get in to the house, a mess, bed without sheets, a huge bag with trash, the house a mess.
And air conditioning? The host said to me that air conditioning could be any device that produces ventilation. He had a dirty fan which was only making noise and no air at all.
I tried to connect internet but the message when I connected was: (your balance is 0, please top up and buy a plan)
I texted the host and he said; “if you are not happy, just get your stuff and go away. I am inside an airplane right now going for Holliday and I have. O time for this” and he even threatened me. “If you don’t leave the house, I will send someone to get you out of there”
I didn’t have where to go and after all the waiting in the sun, going 3 floors up. All I needed was to rest. And if I tried to ask for the refund, the money was only come to me after some days and I didn’t have more money to book another place. So I had to stay till the next day.
To complete, the host accused me to stealing his keys because the cleaner couldn’t find the key downstairs. But I was still inside the property waiting for someone to help me going down.
He offended my mom, my family. He said I was mentally ill. And charged me for the key and for the time I stayed after th check out time.
Funny because before my arrival, there was no cleaner to clean the flat but for my check ou, the cleaner was there precisely on time.
Not to forget the street work till midnight and starting at 8am.

Nothing, as I didn't get to stay in this place
Open gate with this code given with instruction ,om booking.com. unlock box with this code given to get get fob and walk to these stairs, so gets in security gate, can't find locked box, as not clear exactly clear where box is. I'll post photos. starts asking people coming out building, no one knows, tries to phone host, not recognising number, emails him, texts him, nothing! It's now 8pm. Guy comes out building says oh yes there's been issues with that flat, he shoes us about a foot wide gap beside a bike shed that has 2 bikes chained beside it and said I think thats the box in there. I squeeze myself in got cut with brambles, open the box and no fob!!!!, looks all around and squeeze myself back out. Tries to phone host again, check my messages, nothing. Where now stranded with no where to sleep 😴. I noticed a pub across road so we trail our 2 very large suitcases across there and get a drink to work out what were going to do. I start phoning local hotels, no rooms left!! I message the host again saying it's 9pm we have nowhere to sleep can he get back to us! Start phoning hotels again and a WhatsApp pings through. It's the host. Hes apologetic says hes been having issues with thst flat but hes upgraded us to another one on town. Sends details. So we get a taxi into town tells taxi driver were we're going. Charges £20 for. 5 minute drive and drops us of nowhere near out destination. So now we've paid £30 in taxis and still not got a room. I see a young guy outside a takeaway. Shows him the picture of the building our new room is in and he laughs and says your miles away from it. I think he saw my sad tired face and says. Let me finish my cigarette and I'll take you my cars over there. It's 10:30 now. He stuffs our cases into his car and takes us on a 10 minute journey, Gets to new apartment, no lift, had to carry 2 large cases up 2 flights. Place looks nice, however no toilet roll, no towels.

Arrived at accommodation and could not gain access. Contacted the host and went into pub over the road to wait for a response
There we were told that this is a regular occurrence and we can expect a message that we would be moved into a city centre apartment.
Sure enough, 5 mins later that's exactly what happened.
The city centre apartment was very disappointing. Generally grubby and unkempt, with one towel provided for 2 adults and a second, filthy, towel thrown in the bottom of the wardrobe.
The bedding had been washed but was stained none the less and the mattress was very uncomfortable with every spring felt.
On top of all that it was in the centre of town, next to a major road and above bars and nightclubs. Even with the windows closed on a hot stuffy night it was too noisy to relax, let alone sleep.
Part of the reason we chose the apartment we did was the quiet location.
I stupidly didn't check the reviews before booking.
If you're taking the time to read this please be aware you will not be getting what you pay for.

Dirty, smelly, cluttered, noisy, and a disgustingly rude host.
1 minute before check in, I received a WhatsApp message from the owner telling me he could not provide the accommodation I had booked. A taxi ride has already been taken to this accommodation and I was waiting for the check in time.
I then needed to book another taxi to the new accommodation, so already I was £20 down. Upon arriving at the new flat, the lockbox code I had been given for this place was wrong. The phone number supplied on Booking.com was incorrect, and after multiple messages and phone calls on WhatsApp I eventually got the correct code over 2 hours later.
The new flat was smaller, had no air conditioning which I had paid for, and was dirty, with cupboards full of junk. I dropped off my bag, and went to visit some family in Southampton as it was my wife’s funeral the next day.
I returned at 23:30, to find that long term major roadworks were happening overnight right outside the bedroom window. 5 HGV loaders were either driving backwards and forwards or sat there on Rickover, plus dumper trucks, workers shouting, and a resurfacing vehicle that was grinding layers off the road. This was all with 15m of the bedroom.
I did try to sleep, but left at 10 minutes past midnight and booked myself into a hotel.
I messaged the host the next morning, and I couldn’t believe the diatribe I was receiving vis voicemail. I had spent less than an hour in the flat, and I had another day booked, but he refused to issue a refund. The attitude was really bad, and as he thought of another insult, he sent it to my phone. It was a constant barrage of insults, and threats.
Also, when I first gained access to the accommodation the washing machine was running and in use from dirty bedding, which means he would have walked past me while I was standing outside in 33 degree sunshine at least twice, while he refused to answer my calls and messages.
I wish I had looked at reviews on booking.com before booking this place, as the legitimate reviews are terrible.
I did not like a single part of the whole sorry fiasco.
