Location
The Tschuggen vacation village is located between Blatten and Belalp. It consists of about 100 chalets built in a uniform style, only some of which are still available for rent. There is a restaurant, a forest adventure playground called “Hexenzauber” (closed when there is snow), and a community area with a soccer goal and a ping-pong table. Furthermore, the village is located along the 7-kilometer-long sledding run/valley descent, meaning that when there is sufficient snow, you can enjoy the descent all the way to Blatten on skis, a snowboard, or a sled directly from the small village road or from your chalet, and from there take the aerial cableway directly up to the magnificent Belalp ski area. Similarly, you can ski or sled all the way back down to the chalet.
The Belalp ski area can be reached by aerial cableway from either the middle station or the valley station. The middle station is a convenient 15-minute walk away. In winter, a shuttle bus also runs between Tschuggen and the middle station (in the mornings). The chalet is located on a south-facing slope with unobstructed views and can be reached from the village street via a small path that includes some steps.
The ski area offers slopes up to an altitude of 3,100 meters and is known for its reliable snow conditions. It is a very family-friendly ski resort with a selection of restaurants, the “Hexenland” play and practice area featuring a ski school, and various play and practice options for beginners (both children and adults). Ski rentals are available on-site: Aerial cableway (valley station), Hexenland (Belalp).
The Aletsch region was designated an UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site in late 2001 and has been under special protection ever since. In summer, the area offers the most beautiful panoramic hikes with spectacular views set against a magnificent natural landscape. The quaint little village of Blatten serves as the starting point for a wide variety of hikes, glacier tours, hut tours, and mountain tours (guided tours). From the gentle meadow slopes above Naters up to the heights of Belalp, you’ll traverse diverse landscapes and enjoy unique views. From the mountain station, there are many hiking options (ranging from easy walks to challenging mountain tours), such as to the Aletsch Glacier, the Oberaletsch Hut, Alpe Bel (dairy farm), the saffron village of Mund, and the Tyndall Monument.
A garage for one car is available (3-minute walk). When there is snow or during the winter season, the road to the Tschuggen vacation village is closed; in that case, the rustic chalet can be reached by aerial cableway and/or on skis or a snowboard. The aerial cableway offers a luggage transport service to the road (for a fee), which can be booked on site.
Spend relaxing days filled with nature, activity, and coziness—in our chalet with a view you’ll fall in love with.
