Unhygeinic, Unresolved Issues, and Empty Promises

It was a close location to where i needed.

Our stay was extremely disappointing and did not meet even basic standards of cleanliness or maintenance. When we arrived, there were large blue bottle flies throughout the property, along with ants trailing over the carpet and at some points on the coffee table, which made the house feel unhygienic from the start. The carpet was stained and dirty . The oven and microwave were both dirty, and we even found dirty plates and cups stored in the upstairs bathroom cupboard, which was completely unacceptable. The utensils that were supposed to be available in the kitchen were a couple of spoons and 2 butter knifes. The fridge when i opened it had stale cabbage and old milk in and smelt terrible. The dish sponges appeared old to have been there for quite some time. We had called prior to our arrival to ask if towels were available so we could know if we should bring our own. (4 guests) We were told there were towels. When we arrived we saw that only 2 beds had small hand towels on them and 1 had a bath towel. There were no other towels in the property. The property advertised TVs in the rooms, but not a single one worked. 2 had broken screens and the other had no connection or signal. We were told that a TV would be supplied within a couple of hours, but we never heard anything further from the owner and no one came to resolve the issue. There was also a blocked toilet when we checked in. We were again told a plumber would be arriving that evening, and again, there was no follow-up, no communication, and the problem was never resolved during our stay. The only time we heard from the owner again was on the day we checked out, when we were given excuses for not resolving the issue and that the issues had been ignored. The owner promised us a partial refund as compensation for the numerous problems we experienced. And acknowledged the issues we were pointing out to him .

Easily a 3.5-4 star stay, value for money and location was excellent. Only minor issues.

Location was perfect for me, as it was right next to the venue for the event we were attending. The value for money was very good too in comparison to other BnBs nearby.

My only critique would be, we did have some quite loud neighbours. Granted this is no fault of the host and we had some minor issues with the TV requiring an external source to be connected via a HDMI to be used, and the upstairs TV having a crack in the screen. I assume this is from prior guests. But bar that very little to complain about

Location was perfect for me, as it was right next to the venue for the event we were attending. The value for money was very good too in comparison to other BnBs nearby.

My only critique would be, we did have some quite loud neighbours. Granted this is no fault of the host and we had some minor issues with the TV requiring an external source to be connected via a HDMI to be used, and the upstairs TV having a crack in the screen. I assume this is from prior guests. But bar that very little to complain about
