Disappointing — the accommodation and was materially different from how it was advertised
The accommodation itself was clean but that was the only redeeming feature.
Very disappointing — not as advertised
I have never taken the time to leave a poor review before, as I generally prefer to give properties the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, this stay was so disappointing that I feel it is important to be honest about our experience.
The biggest issue was the advertised “Marina and Pool View”. The listing shows attractive photographs with a clear view, but in reality the balcony is almost completely screened by large trees. The property bears very little resemblance to the photographs used to advertise the view, which appear to be significantly out of date. The view was an important factor in choosing this accommodation and we would not have booked it had the current view been accurately represented.
There were also several other issues:
- The €300 deposit, advertised as payable in cash on arrival, was instead requested through a separate portal in advance.
- We experienced cold showers/inadequate hot water, despite there being two bathrooms.
- The property is next to an extremely busy main road, with significant traffic noise that wasn't apparent from the listing.
- Despite the pool being a prominent feature, there were no sun loungers available.
- Cots and spare beds were left set up inside the property, obstructing wardrobes and reducing usable space.
- A neighbouring dog regularly barked from around 7am, causing early-morning disturbance.
- There was dog fouling around the entrance and footpath.
- Parking was considerably worse than represented, with limited spaces and abandoned vehicles around the available parking area.
Individually, some issues might be relatively minor, but taken together they made the accommodation materially different from what was represented in the listing.
I have always tried to give accommodation providers the benefit of the doubt, but on this occasion the photographs really do speak for themselves.
