Very disappointing experience – poor access and poor communication
Our supposed stay at Emtri Apartments in Sorsogon City turned into a very frustrating experience.
My family(with 2kids and 2 seniors) had just completed a long journey—from Dubai to Manila, Manila to Legazpi, and finally Legazpi to Sorsogon. We only needed a simple place to rest overnight and store our luggage before continuing to our next destination, so we were not expecting anything luxurious—just basic convenience and access.
Unfortunately, we were unable to even properly access the property. We tried calling the property multiple times, but no one answered. When we finally arrived, we discovered that the road leading to the apartment was under construction, (too tight). Our car had difficulty passing through, and we had to keep moving back and forth to give way to other vehicles. During this process, our car was scratched which caused another stress, which added further stress after an already exhausting journey. To make matters worse, the property itself was not accessible by car. I had to walk back and forth just to locate the caretaker. Eventually, the caretaker contacted the owner, who then told us that they would refund our payment.
However, this created another issue. The booking was marked as non-refundable on Booking.com, so I asked how the refund would be processed. The owner requested my bank details and said the refund would be completed within 2–3 days. I followed up multiple times, only to later be told that they had already raised the matter with Booking.com.
While the amount may not be significant, the overall experience completely disrupted our plans and caused unnecessary stress.
With clearer communication about the access situation, this experience could have been much smoother.
