About this apartment rental

Where a School Became a Home
Villa Irene Langhe was once the elementary school in Pensoglio, a tiny hamlet in the hills of Monforte d'Alba. Built in the 1950s, it stood quietly for decades—until architect Lara Spano of LATO51 Studioarchitettura reimagined every room.

The result is a house that honors its past while offering something rare: tall windows opening onto the Barolo vineyards, a panoramic loggia, an outdoor stone staircase lit from within—and a curated collection of design pieces, art, and lighting that transform each room into its own quiet stage.
No reception desk. No lobby. Just space, silence, and the landscape.
What sets it apart

A former 1950s schoolhouse, restored with architectural intent rather than a checklist of amenities
Three independent units—School House, Suite Red, Suite Green — or the entire villa, exclusively yours, for up to 10 guests
Original details paired with a hand-picked selection of designer furniture, art, and lighting
A panoramic loggia and an exterior stone staircase, both framing the vineyards below
No pool, by choice — the landscape and the architecture are the view worth keeping unobstructed

A house among the vines
Villa Irene Langhe sits on the outskirts of Monforte d’Alba, one of the eleven villages of the Barolo DOCG, with windows looking directly out onto the vineyards of Monforte and neighboring Novello. This is the heart of Barolo country, with La Morra, Castiglione Falletto, Serralunga d’Alba, and the village of Barolo itself all within a short drive, and Alba—Piedmont’s truffle capital—about 20 minutes away.
Once you book, we’re happy to share our personal list of favorite wineries, restaurants, and quiet corners of the Langhe—the kind you won’t find just by searching.
