We, Silke and Andi, look forward to welcoming you to our family-run vacation home in Ruhpolding! The house has a long history as a vacation destination: About 35 years ago, Andi’s mother, Evi, was already renting out a vacation apartment here. About 15 years ago, the apartment was converted into a home for our son and his wife. After our son moved into his own home, the entire house was reopened to vacation guests—and, as before, was named Ferienhaus Hinterseer. The name also has another significance: Andi’s grandfather, Georg Hinterseer, was an academic sculptor well-known in the region. His works—such as the chairs in the bedrooms and his self-portraits by the spiral staircase—can still be found today, and not just in our vacation home. The Madonna and other figures in St. George’s Church in Ruhpolding are also his creations. Today, the vacation home thus combines family tradition, arts and crafts, and the history of our house with a modern vacation home for our guests.
