Overall, a really lovely villa, but having stayed in many villas over the years, I felt a few things could have been better thought through, particularly when it came to hospitality and attention to detail. Firstly, clearer arrival instructions would have been helpful, as there are two almost identical buildings on the site, making it difficult to know which villa was ours. The villa itself was lovely, but some of the basics were missing. There were no complimentary essentials such as bottled water or even a tea towel, which would have been a nice touch, particularly as the nearest supermarket isn’t within easy walking distance. The kitchen was also surprisingly limited in terms of crockery, cutlery, mugs and glasses, particularly considering the number of guests the villa can accommodate. There was also no toaster, meaning we couldn’t make toast or toasted sandwiches. Pool towels weren’t provided either, and although I was told these would be brought over that evening, they never arrived. The dishwasher also hadn’t been properly cleaned before our arrival. Communication could also have been better. I was contacted about payment despite having already paid through Booking.com, and was asked to pay in cash or by bank transfer. Thankfully, I checked my booking and was able to send a screenshot confirming payment had already been made. Although the villa isn’t particularly close to shops or restaurants, a taxi into Lefkada town was only €10, which was very reasonable between four of us. There are also a few beachfront bars around a 15-minute walk away, although some were closed during our stay as it was low season. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and the villa itself was very nice. However, compared with other villas we’ve stayed in, the level of hospitality felt a little impersonal. It was the small things that were missing, and a little more thought and attention to guests would have made a real difference to the overall experience.
