🍽️ Gather

The chef's kitchen is made for cooking together, with the formal dining room alongside for long dinners. The living room gathers everyone around the fireplace. By day, the bright sunroom is an easy place for board games, reading, or catching up over lunch. After dinner, head to the game room, where a game table sits beside its own fireplace insert for cards and friendly competition. Original woodwork and historic details give every room the warmth of a home with 150 years behind it.



🛏️ Rest

Five bedrooms with six beds offer flexible sleeping for families and groups, and 4.5 bathrooms keep mornings easy. Each bedroom is named for a landmark you can explore nearby. The Skyline Room, the primary suite, takes its name from Skyline Drive, which begins minutes away in Front Royal, and has a king bed and the home's largest bathroom. The Riverton Room honors the village the home has stood in since 1870, where the North and South Forks of the Shenandoah meet, and has a queen bed and its own attached bath. The Blue Ridge and Massanutten Rooms are named for the two ridges that face each other across the valley. Each has a queen bed, and the two share a bathroom. The Valley Room, named for the farms and rivers in between, has two full beds and its own bathroom, a good fit for kids or friends. A half bath is on the main floor.

Start the morning with coffee in the bright sunroom or out on the screened porch. Out back, the private yard has a cedar hot tub and an infrared sauna, plus outdoor seating, a covered gathering area, and a grill. It's the place to be after a day on the river or along Skyline Drive.

Riverton sits where the North and South Forks of the Shenandoah River meet, just outside downtown Front Royal. The northern entrance to Shenandoah National Park and Skyline Drive is close by, along with river outfitters, hiking trails, and Warren County wineries.

Guests have access to the full property, including the sunroom, screened porch, backyard, sauna, and hot tub, excluding the basement and locked storage closets.

Shenandoah Heritage sits in Riverton, a quiet historic neighborhood on the edge of Front Royal, with downtown restaurants, coffee shops, and breweries a few minutes away.



Getting around



A car is required. Roads are paved, and downtown Front Royal is a short drive.

📶 Connectivity • High-speed WiFi supports streaming, remote work, and video calls. The home is equipped with smart TVs, and while standard cable is not available, guests are welcome to log into their own streaming accounts.

🏛️ Historic Home • Built in 1870 and meticulously maintained, the home has been fully renovated with updated systems, fresh finishes, and modern comforts throughout, while keeping the original woodwork, hardwood floors, and historic details intact. It is in excellent condition and cared for continuously. As with any home of this age, you will notice the character that comes with it: floors and stairs that settle and creak, rooms and doorways that vary in size, and original woodwork with a patina no new build can reproduce.



🚼 Family-Friendly Amenities • Traveling with little ones? A pack 'n play, full-size high chair, and children's tableware are provided.



🧯 Safety & Cleanliness • All bedding, linens, and towels are professionally laundered between stays. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, fire extinguishers, a first aid kit, flashlights, and lanterns are provided.



🦌 Wildlife & Surroundings • Set in a small residential community near the Shenandoah River, you'll likely spot deer, wild turkeys, and the occasional fox. The home is serviced by a professional pest control company, though insects and small critters can make an appearance now and then.



🏡 Privacy • Riverton is a quiet residential neighborhood with homes close by, so guests may notice neighbors, pets, or children in the area. We ask that you help preserve the peaceful setting by keeping in mind that voices, music, and other noise can carry beyond the property, particularly in the backyard and on the screened porch.



♨️ Hot Tub, Sauna & Property Care • The cedar hot tub and infrared sauna are open year-round and serviced regularly by a professional team. We continually improve the home, so furniture or décor may differ slightly from photos. Our landscaping, hot tub, or pest control team may visit as needed; visits are brief and exterior only, and we'll notify you in advance whenever possible.
